sasporta,

Yes. You were on subject.

There are perhaps fewer than one man in ten thousand who have your scriptural insight. Remember that whatever knowledge and wisdom that you have is a gift from your heavenly father. He knows your name. He has chosen you to represent him in this tumultuous ending of the Church age.

“One man in ten thousand?” Well, thanks, I didn’t realize my one little post would get such an accolade, and from someone who believes the last trump of the feast of trumpets is not the last trump of 1 Cor. 15 no less! I hasten to say, the ones with superior knowledge and wisdom is certainly not me, it’s the NT Jewish writers. Their insight is superior to modern prophecy expositors. As Apostolic Jews, far superior to modern Jewish (or Gentile Messianic) pretrib prophecy expositors...who are forever trying to insert another parousia, or second coming, additional to the singular parousia featured in all their writings. They are the Apostolic Jews with the “smarts” you and I should follow, not these modern ones.

If Paul, a Jewish writer of NT prophecy, believed the “last” trump was an additional pretribulational parousia, additional to Jesus’ post-tribulational “great” trump, Matt. 24, bringing out a dramatic new revelation, then he would certainly have used clear unambiguous language in setting this forth...yet his term is the same as Jesus, “parousia.” If he had called it the first parousia of a two parousia series, the first second coming, or something to that effect, then case is closed, we wouldn’t be having this difference of opinion. But he did not.

Surely he would have been aware of the various trumpet blasts touted in the lead article here, shofar or otherwise, in the Jewish feasts he had observed all his life, Surely he was aware of the ones at Pentecost, the month of Elul, Rosh Hoshana, and Yom Kippur.

Ir is really quite simple, the notions of modern pretrib Jewish expositors notwithstanding, his “last” trump, 1 Cor. 15, was identical to Jesus’ “great” trumpet, Matt. 24.

The one blown on Yom Kippur, or the day of atonement, is the post-tribulational one Jesus called the great trumpet. Closing out the tribulation, it most assuredly would be the last one.

sasportas,

Rosh Hashanah features trumpets sounded in a pattern:

1) tekiah - a long, unwavering blast
2) shevarim - three short, broken blasts
3) teruah - nine staccato blasts
4) tekiah - one long blast

In my opinion, the last tekiah blast is the one cited in Matt. 24:31. It seems to fit best. Rosh Hasanah is also known as the feast of the New Moon (when the Moon is dark).

“And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.” (Matt. 24:31)

This brings it into harmony with the moon not giving its light at the time of the Rapture.

“the moon will not give its light” Matt. 24:29

In agreement with you, this brings The Great Tribulation to a close. Everything harmonizes without contradication.

Amazing. Wouldn't it be amazing to be called home to Christ this way?

I don't know when.....or the year....but I have read about the Rapture occurring at this ancient Jewish feast before, and I believe it to be true.

If it were to occur now, the United States would descend into chaos. Obama would be reelected in a walk. Israel would be totally alone. The world would quickly descend into the ultimate Dark Age.

I do not understand the significance of the trumpet blasts, except in rev. i think it is symbols of different happenings in time frames, While John was in the spirit he saw things which he wrote down and may or may not have even understood him self.

The way i read is that the tribulation and the time of wrath are not exactly the same, and i do believe that Christians will go through the tribulation and that they will die and in the instant of death be raptured ( resurrected ) but they will not sleep in death as many before them has.

Paul makes it plain.

in 1 cor 15:36
[Thou] fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

He was saying that our physical bodies has to die before we can be given our spiritual bodies.

1 Thessalonians 4:17
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

This is the only scripture that even hints at being resurrected with out dieing, but i believe Paul has already made it plain in 1 cor 15:36.
