Sounds like you're READY.
Yes, it is later than it’s ever been before!
As it turns out the Rapture myth is only a few years older than the Wizard of Oz.
I think it was a little higher than now when the Black Death killed a third of Europe's population.
Also:
37 Earthquakes: Two strong quakes kill 240 people in Iran.
That ranks a 5. Was it a 6 when the December 26, 2004 when a quarter million were killed by an earthquake its tsunami?
I’ve been hearing that for over 50 years. Something tells me my grandkids will hear about too.
Yes, but forget about that rapture stuff. We are all going to be right here to witness and fight for right. Anything else just wouldn’t be fair! : )
“As it turns out the Rapture myth is only a few years older than the Wizard of Oz.”
As it turns out, your knowledge of Church history outside your own area is deficient.
And that is when the "rapture" or "harpazo" or "catching up" (whichever one you want to call it) will occur.
He’s right. “Rapture” is not in the Bible.
For example the KJV differs from newer translations in the NIV. Why? Deceitful translations. False prophets.
Too bad that many Christians are prepared to “fly away” and leave the two witnesses to stand against the anti-christ completely alone.
(The pretribulation rapture) thats an entirely different debate (a debate I hope would be carried on somewhere else, and not this thread).
> Since the “Rapture Index” webpage is in actuality a “Pretribulation Rapture Index,” I don’t how in the world you can be upset at the reaction it is bound to cause.
For people like myself, Historic Premillennialist (post-trib), who believe a pretribulation rapture, a “first” second coming, with another coming, a “second” second coming at the end of the tribulation, is bogus, but a man made theory, throwing a Pretribulation Rapture Index at us, as if it is fact, is red meat. I’d say this so called Rapture Index has been put in the crosshairs, a target for serious debate and exmination.
I hasten to add, as a Historic Premillennialist, not a Preterist, you might get the wrong impression from my post. I am in total agreement with the heightened concern of which the “Rapture Index” is based, what we see going on in the world. The middle east, not to mention the ongoing apostasy about us everywhere, the coming election, etc. My beef is only with the pretribulation rapture which the index is based.
We should be sounding the alarm of getting conservatives like what we have here on FR, prepared (mentally, spiritually, and theologically) for what we are going to be facing in the great tribulation.
“We should be sounding the alarm of getting conservatives like what we have here on FR, prepared (mentally, spiritually, and theologically) for what we are going to be facing in the great tribulation.”
Well said...onward Christian soldiers!
It’s like jumping on a thread where people are trying to discuss some point of Catholic theology (say whether Mass should be in Latin or English) and declaring “all that Catholic stuff is bogus.” Not really appropriate.
It seems the context of this thread is the rapture INDEX, and how it compares to the overall theology of the rapture. Like the Catholic debate, it should probably be for people that support the theology (premillenialist).
If you like to start a thread to debate the theology of the rapture itself...great idea.
I thought the Rapture Index webpage was a sort of measuring stick of anxiety in expectation of an imminent, or any moment, rapture, a central concept of the pretrib rapture doctrine.
Rapture is not in the Bible.”
“Bible” is not in the Bible.
Well, not exactly correct Ezekiel 13:17-23 was told to put into writing about those that teach 'souls' to fly.
I flew out to Portland Oregon a couple of weeks ago via Minneapolis and returned via Dallas. I must have missed Ezekial. Perhaps he was off shift.
However, it would conflict with the kids' soccer games, not to mention the big meeting with Boeing. Just wouldn't work for me. Perhaps God might delay it for a couple of weeks until I wrap up the loose ends...
So? Are you accusing the Heavenly Father of being 'off shift'? Take your complaints up with Him.
So? Are you accusing the Heavenly Father of being 'off shift'? Take your complaints up with Him.
Ahh, the advantage of an American public school education. I said that I must have missed Ezekial; perhaps he was off shift.
Now you turn that into accusing me of saying that the Heavenly Father (you aren't Mormon by any chance, are you?) is off shift. The Rapture thus far to any evidence simply doesn't exist and will not, no matter the hysteria of its supporters. Now we have the disingenuousness of its supporters to add to its veracity.
