None of us could even imagine such a great salvation as You have provided us, precious God. We are still, day by day, learning more about the depths and riches of all You have given us and all that You are. We are mostly speechless when we try to say from our hearts, “You are awesome, and we thank You”. It is all we have, though, and we trust You to hear the singing in our hearts.
What a privilege it is today to gather before Your throne, under the guidance of Your Spirit, to pray Your will on earth so that You can continue showing the world Your goodness and grace! So, here we are, asking for Your intervention in the lives of the military men and women You have so graciously given us. We shout, “Grace” to each one! If they need grace to find eternal life, send laborers and understanding to them. If they need grace to be healed, we speak Your Word, “Jesus healed them all.” If they need grace to be made sound in mind, You say, “Jesus bore the chastisement of their peace”. If they need protection, send Your angels and hide them in the secret place of the Most High. We also ask You for favor with our Washington decision makers and Your might to bring them victory. Father, let us place these heroes where You want them to be.
As many of our intercessors have prayed, we commit to You the future of our Nation. You have taught us (again) that no one can save us except You. Our hearts’ desire is for a Nation of people who love You and submit to Your ways of doing and being right. By Your grace, we ask You to move us in that direction. Thank You.

Praying with you for our Heroes and our beloved Nation.
Our nation needs more prayers than ever. I’m afraid we’ll be praying for our heroes more than ever as these supposed four years progress.
Before the electronic gadgets and distractions of today, the long summer days of my boyhood were brightened each week when the bookmobile arrived. It was a bus lined with book-filled shelves that were transported from the regional library to neighborhoods so that those without transportation could access them. Because of the bookmobile, I spent many a happy summer day reading books that would otherwise have been inaccessible. To this day, I am thankful for the love of books that the bookmobile fostered in me.
Some Bible scholars say that the apostle Paul had a love of books and studied them till the end of his life. He wrote in his final letter, “Bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas when you come—and the books, especially the parchments” (2 Tim. 4:13). The books he was asking for could very well have been the Old Testament and/or some of his own writings.
I’m sure that Paul’s pursuit of knowledge was more than intellectual curiosity or entertainment. It was the pursuit of Christ that drove Paul. His goal: “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death” (Phil 3:10). I pray that this same pursuit will drive us today.
