For such a time as this. Esther 4:14
Heavenly Father
We confess as a nation we have turned from You and have been so ungrateful for Your bountiful blessings. Yet, even for a people out of Your will, You are ever faithful to keep watch over Your own. And in all times, especially those of calamity, we take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
Please hear our prayers to lift up our leaders in all levels of government and those who serve to keep us safe. Watch over the brave men and women who put themselves in harms way and cover them under the shadow of Your wings.
The Book of Esther encourages us as it demonstrates Your care even when Your people are out our Your expressed will. During such godless times, though the wicked Haman had plotted to exterminate Your people, You were abiding in the shadows watching over Your own. Through Your Providence, You raised up Esther for such a time as this to thwart the plans of the enemy and give victory to Your people.
With the example of Esther, we take heart for our nation. Many, it seems, in high places have risen against You and Your people, calling good evil, and evil good, (Isaiah 5:20). Through Your Providence, Heavenly Father, we ask that You raise up men and women filled with Your Spirit for such a time as this. Give us a heart of repentance so we may we turn to You, the only Savior and the only Source of Wisdom to overcome the daunting challenges we face in our nation and in this world.
In Jesus Name
Amen
Let us pray
Amen To Your prayer for Our American heroes and For Our Beloved Nation.
Welcome to the Team!
Today’s Thread is BEAUTIFUL!
Sometimes when I want to start a fire, the wind puts it out. But when I try to keep a fire burning, wind keeps it going. So, in the first situation, I label wind bad because it thwarts my plans; in the other, I label it good because it helps me accomplish what I want to get done.
This paradox illustrates how we judge things by the way they affect us. We declare circumstances or people bad if they thwart our plans or cause us inconvenience. We judge circumstances or people good if we agree with them and they support our cause.
But God is the One who determines what is good or bad, and He does so not by how it affects our plans but by whether or not it accomplishes His. His plan is that we would be a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people. And His purpose for us is to proclaim the praises of Him who called [us] out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).
To accomplish Gods good purpose, we are to respect all people, love other believers, fear God, and honor those who rule over useven when something doesnt seem good to us (v.17). These kinds of actions may fan a spark of belief in those who observe our responses to bad circumstances and most of all bring praise to God.
