World leaders should unite to end anti-Christian persecution, Vladimir Putin says

Vladimir Putin has urged the world’s political leaders to stop the violent persecutions against Christians that have erupted in many Middle Eastern countries.

Speaking at a meeting with Orthodox Christian leaders in Moscow last week, the Russian President said he noted “with alarm” that “in many of the world’s regions, especially in the Middle East and in North Africa inter-confessional tensions are mounting, and the rights of religious minorities are infringed, including Christians and Orthodox Christians.”

“This pressing problem should be a subject of close attention for the entire international community,” Putin said. “It is especially important today to make efforts to prevent intercultural and interreligious conflicts, which are fraught with the most serious upheavals.”

Putin praised the growth of cooperation between the Orthodox Churches and the Russian state, saying, “We act as genuine partners and colleagues to solve the most pressing domestic and international tasks, to implement joint initiatives for the benefit of our country and people.”

The Russian Federation recently passed legislation making it illegal to promote homosexuality as normal, a move that, while condemned by many European leaders, was strongly supported by the Orthodox Church.

The spread of the Faith amongst the world sparked the charge that they were turning the world upside down (acts 17:6).

Looks like Christ can still upturn the spirit of this world upside, for the good.

Sometimes it is safer to recognize you cannot be friends with someone, you simply just get along with them. Putin is just rubbing obama's (and by extension the Dem ilk) face into the mud. Putin is no friend of anyone following Christianity, he's just found another good chain to yank with obama the muslim.

I do however hope Pooty-poot corners zero and outs him for the muzzie that he is...That would be fantastic and I *might* consider thanking him for it.

Never thought the President of Russia would look better than ours. Even the two Bushes, in addition to the clown in the Oval Office totally ignored this.

The more I hear about Putin, the better he sounds.

I grew up thinking that America would always be on the right side of history. I grew up in the Marine Corps believing the Russian Soviets were the "Evil Empire" and we were the good guys. That was then, this is now.

Sadly I recognize that this once great country is being led down the dark path by traitors in high places. We are now on the wrong side of history, and it appears that the Russians will play a pivotal role in rolling back the rising abomination that is islam.

>>>>Meanwhile he hasn’t stopped helping Iran, the biggest state sponsor of Islamic terrorism and one of the greatest sources of Christian persecution, build their nukes. More than just disingenuous when he talks out of both sides of his mouth.<<<<<

Iran is the least militant and expansionist of most of the present islamist regimes.

They are Sunni ‘friends’ backed by Saudi Arabians who are killing Christians en-masse and establishing no-go zones in Western cities.

Not to mention Iran is some king of a republic, they have a Western style political system, elections, there are millions of educated people etc. People might be prosecuted for adultery but at least women aren’t stoned by the crowd, they are electing and being elected to offices.
Iran has a chance to be converted back to a good ways unlike any of ‘good’ muslims on the loose elsewhere.

Wow, that’s a pack of lies. Iran’s all over Iraq, and was making inroads into Egypt (put on pause while they see who wins over there; the “winners” are themselves Islamist of course); they fund Hamas, Hezbollah, Fatah, and even al-Qaeda; and if Iran gets nukes, they will use them to start WWIII in earnest.

The Caliphate thanks you for your support, with an “Inshallah” on top. (LOL at “western-style political system”, with the candidates picked by the Guardian Council.)

I haven’t told Iran is innocent, but I don’t think they are the biggest threat in a long run.

>>>The Caliphate thanks you for your support, with an “Inshallah” on top.<<<

Caliphate is a Sunni thing. Al-Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood etc. Iran is a protagonist of an idea if you are to learn this situation carefully.

>>>(LOL at “western-style political system”, with the candidates picked by the Guardian Council.)<<<

Czech Republic or Poland had the same system just a few decades ago.
It proved to have a room for conversion, unlike most of the ‘friendly’ regimes.

I admire your lean towards universal understanding of good and evil but unfortunately it is not working in our imperfect world.

What trashy nonsense. Get back to me when Iran stops building road side bombs that kill our troops.

Iran is the biggest threat, and Putin is helping them directly; he is not hiding that fact. (Obama is also helping them indirectly.) As much trouble as Saudi Arabia is and has been, they don’t have the fanaticism of Iran’s Twelvers, who actually believe they need to start World War III to induce their Mahdi to return.

Helping Islamists in any way no matter where they come from is detrimental to Christians besides.

And Caliphate is a Muslim thing. The Sunnis and Shi’ites differ on who has the right to be the caliph, though.

As for good and evil, their definitions do not change no matter how imperfect the world goes.

I’m not going to justify it but at the same time they are fighting against people who organized 9/11 and preaching hate in mosques in American cities recruiting idiots into more terrorism against civilians.

Iran is backing Assad regime in Syria, they are countering Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda in Egypt.

Both Egyptian junta and Assad’s regime are obstacles to a Caliphate, not a competitors for a role of Caliph.

All of the above are awful people but some of them are a kind of allies against ultimate radical islam.

Putin probably has more fans in the U.S. than he does in Russia now. These must be end times...

Let me put this in a way you may understand:

Once Iran gets its nukes, they will target Russia among their other stated targets. They won’t spare anyone. Therefore, why help them go nuclear?

I think for one reason or another they won’t get any functional nukes. I’m convinced that if not for a Russian “help” Iran could have a bomb already. I think there are some kind of covert work about it between Russian and Israel’s intelligence.

Well, it is true that Russia is not Iran’s sole source of nuke help; North Korea is a big collaborator. But Russia should be hindering instead.

I don’t know if Iran will target Russia actually, considering the first thing their last “president” did was meet with Putin after his election. There’s actually lots of evidence that the Russians supported the overthrow of the Shah and the current government in Iran.

As for Cunning_fish, it’s ridiculous to be concerned over which kind of Islam reigns supreme. When it comes down to it, the Russians have supported both kinds throughout the world. Alexandr Litvenenko, the fellow who was poisoned with Polonium 210, whose suspected killer fled to Russia and whom they refused to extradite, claimed that Al-Qaeda’s number two man (now number one) was trained by the FSB.

If Putin is so Christian, he needs to come clean about all the people beaten and murdered under his regime, as well as his reasons for supporting Islamic terrorism, as well as using his agents in the U.S. to spread communist propaganda in support of the far-left in south America. I’m thinking of that Spanish woman who was deported awhile back, along with the slut red head, for their operations in the U.S. She’s working now for the Moscow Times providing talking points for Alex Jones.

LOL. Al-Qaeda # 1 man was trained by CIA. What is the point?

Are you claiming that Osama Bin Laden is an American agent? What evidence do you have that Osama was specifically trained by the CIA or in any way affiliated with the CIA or any government agency?
