Happy with poll results but most people think he is in favor of married priest, abortion, and gays.Take your own poll at work or with your friends.No-one answered me on The Red Mass and who will be in line for Communion.

i think your initial post is understandable as many people cherry picked what Pope Francis said and liberals are jumping for joy...fact is the Pope has not deviated from Church doctrine as many are hoping, nor will he...

Truth is truth... There shouldn’t be any political leanings attributed to any pope.

Nope.
At this point the Pope defies categorization, nor do I trust any of the information I have read about him. Too often I read of some outrageous statement or policy only to find that words were twisted or distorted.
I’m going to wait a while.

Thank you verga.

After his election the MSM was amazed to learn he was actually Catholic. He is his own man with his own style. JPII had his style BXVI had his and Francis has his. And they are all Catholic.

The way of the Cross is not subject to polling maneuvers, but appears as folly. To the extent the Pope is faithful the Sacred Scriptures, he will be subject to bad polling results and more. In this he may rejoice.

“... this is what I said when they asked me if I would accept my election as pontiff.” Then the pope whispers in Latin: “I am a sinner, but I trust in the infinite mercy and patience of our Lord Jesus Christ, and I accept in a spirit of penance.”

I like him.

In nearly every respect I tend toward conservative in voting, yes. But not all.

I am conservative and I am happy with him. I think conservatives that are not happy with him are being manipulated by the press. You had to read the whole interview carefully to understand what he actually said, not what the leftists hoped he had said. In a year they will turn on him when they find out nothing has changed in their direction.

Amazingly, the flurry and controversy over the interview was blown up the very next morning, as the Holy Father spoke forcefully against ABORTION, asserting that no Catholic physician can engage in performing one.

In his Mass April 19th, the Holy Father made this observation:

…They are the ones who walk only “on the path of duty”: theirs is the moralis[tic outlook] of those who pretend to understand the Gospel with their heads alone. They are not “on the road to conversion, that conversion to which Jesus calls us.”

And these, on the road of duty, load everything on the shoulders of the faithful. The ideologues falsify the gospel. Every ideological interpretation, wherever it comes from – from [whatever side] – is a falsification of the Gospel. And these ideologues – as we have seen in the history of the Church – end up being intellectuals without talent, ethicists without goodness – and let us not so much as mention beauty, of which they understand nothing.

"Rather,” said Pope Francis, “the path of love, the way of the Gospel, is simple: it is the road that the Saints understood”:

The saints are those who lead the Church forward! The road of conversion, the way of humility, of love, of the heart, the way of beauty ... Today let us pray to the Lord for the Church: that the Lord might free her from any ideological interpretation and open the heart of the Church, our Mother Church, to the simple Gospel, to that pure Gospel that speaks to us of love, which brings love, and is so beautiful! It also makes us beautiful, with the beauty of holiness. Today let us pray for the Church.

What I've seen go on consistently since his election is that the left has attempted to shoe-horn him into their socialistic, sexually libertine form of pseudo-orthodoxy. They do not know how to listen to the Gospel and let the gospel transform them, they attempt to transform the gospel so that it fits within their narrow ideology.

(As has been mentioned before) Then I see conservatives react with panic to this and either attempt to explain what he says away or write off the Holy Father as actually being the caricature that the socialists have painted.

What concerns me is that I expect, at some point, to see this caricature to begin being referenced inside the (hyper-liberal) US Church. I expect to see some of the more left-leaning bishops to start using NY Times quotes about him as justification for their left-leaning positions; I expect some Marxist priests to use the National Schismatic Fishwrap's analyses as a validation for their liberation theology; I expect a great number of the social justice offices in diocesan chanceries to use his concern for the poor as a rationale for their political support for enslavement of the US population.

In answer to your specific questions:
