Same thing the man in the original article said...but Catholics won’t see that. They’ll parse it down to the nth degree to make their case and they won’t even do it with Scripture. I can honestly see now why the Roman Catholic Church is called the Whore of Babylon! Some Catholics are so far gone I don’t think there is any hope...never in my life have I seen such naivete, such gullibility, such utter folly and stupidity. And Catholics think we need to learn about Christianity??? I sure hope I am standing within hearing range when some of this lovely bunch come before the judgment. Un-frickin-believable! Guys, if you want to continue in this futile quest then more power to you, but this one has had enough. Any lurker within 100 light years can see the idiocy and futility of Catholic theology. And anyone stupid enough to get sucked into the Catholic vortex gets exactly what he deserves.

Sometimes the flame threads are amusing to read when I have a bit of time to catch up on the worldly happenings... however, it does seem there was no expectation as to what the responses would be??? Now not to question your sincerity, that spirit thing and all claimed, but really now, where did John say the 'whore of Babylon' was the RCC?

Christ Himself said all but the very elect would be deceived in the last days, it's called the tribulation. Now unless one can with a certainty claim their flesh will be still among the living, none can claim they are the very elect.

... that anybody actually believes in those fairy tales! God has no need for go-betweens and please show me some scriptures on which you may base the other assumptions. I get one Catholic Tell me a that faith is defined as "fact", then I get another that comes to describe how we must circumnavigate the path to God's throne through some third parties.

yet, all of those teachings require pretzel-like twists and misdirections to draw away from Jesus. Oh, there's plenty of talk about Jesus, but there is always something else added. Scripture tells us to beware. Scripture tells us to study to show ourselves approved before God. Scripture tells us there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Scripture tells us that we can go straight to the throne without fear, because we are the children of God, when we only have simple faith.

Scripture tells us everything we need for salvation. Scripture never tells us to go through Rome!

It's laid out here in the Philippines, 12 hours difference from the East Coast of the US. I am going to bed now and rest soundly, knowing that when I die, I can look forward to the resurrection. It may be that promise by faith, I will cling to it. I won't light any candles, nor talk to dead people. I just say thank you for your gift without price to me.

So, Satan can walk to and fro upon the earth deceiving whom he can. It seems there's a lot of those willing to accept something that makes them feel good.

The only motive for believing that the New Testament is the inspired Word of God is that Catholics wrote it, Catholics used it in the liturgy, Catholics discerned what writings belonged and what writing didn’t, and Catholic bishops in council decided once and for all what would be included in the Canon.

Why are you so devoted to a book produced in and preserved by the Catholic Church, if you are so contemptuous of the Catholic Church?

BTW: There is not one verse in all of Scripture that says that Scripture alone is the source of revelation. Thus, anyone who says that Scripture ALONE is the source of revelation is teaching a human doctrine not found in Scripture. That is, he is contradicting himself.
