The issue is constitution vs religion. Courts decide with the constitution. We need amendments since the Courts can’t find any penumbras.

FROM THE ARTICLE: 32 percent of black Protestant Americans who are in favor of same-sex marriage,

This tells me all I need to know about black Protestant Americans... Almost a third of black “Christians” (note the quotes) practice UNBIBLICAL Christianity.

RE: Courts decide with the constitution.

Does the New Jersey constitution or our own constitution for that matter, say anything about gay marriage?

I don’t know a lot about Pew so can’t evaluate how fair or representative their stats are. The problem of non- or nominal believers in local congregations — who will drift with the world, and boy is this world drifting wildly now — is age old.

Gotta love the way this is phrased: ". . . who identifies as a Christian . . ." Given that this is the same crowd who thinks that a man can "identify" as a woman or a woman can "identify" as a man, what the heck do they think it means to "identify" as a Christian?

"Identifying" as something means nothing. Being something means everything.

Shalom.

It’s marriage-agnostic.

If nothing else, this has forced the awareness that expecting an unbelieving Caesar to keep godly things godly is a fool’s errand. Of course it’s an abomination. But it hasn’t forced God off the throne or forced His plan into confusion. God lets evil strut, WITHIN LIMITS that He has determined in wisdom. He’s hoping we get the hint that He’s better than all this evil, and turn back to Him. Personally. Not to idols, not even idol-governments.

Not as far as I know. But Courts seem to include gay marriage as a civil right. Who knows what else they will include. Civil rights will cover a multitude of sins.

“Booker, who identifies as Christian,”

Just a slight difference between ‘identifies’ and ‘is’.

Like all the difference in the world.

In another recent article, 53% of Catholics who attend Mass weekly, and 65% of Catholics who attend less frequently, are in favor as well.

Support is highest among Catholics age 18-49 (64%), and among Catholic women (72%). Support is lowest among Catholics age 65 and up (46%) and among Catholic men (49%).

.
Won’t be long before Courts will include “marriage” between man or woman with the animal they own as a civil “right”.

I would say MOST of them do...voting for Barack Obama, a known advocate for partial birth abortion (and worse); is NOT the act of a Christian.

Years ago, the NJ courts heard the sodomites' case and said that the legislature HAD to pass a law legalizing either same-sex "marriage" or civil unions, as long as they bestowed the same "rights." The legislature opted for civil unions with all the rights of "marriage." Now, somehow, that is not good enough.

Predictably, even "marriage" won't be good enough. The reprobates get ever angrier with every step of "progress" that they make. Tells you and I, and it should tell them, everything we should know about this abominable lifestyle.

Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and unto God the things that are God’s.

If any state or even the federal government wants to pretend that these marriages have a real meaning beyond grubbing for benefits, we cannot stop them, perhaps, but that does not change their meaning in the eyes of God or our duty regarding such relationships.
