Mormon-evangelical detente? Mouw, Zacharias to speak to LDS again
Deseret News ^ | Thursday, Oct. 31 2013 | Tad Walch

The chill seemed to begin to thaw for some in 2004 when Mouw introduced Ravi Zacharias at the LDS Church's Salt Lake Tabernacle. Mouw spoke for seven minutes and apologized for evangelicals who had "misrepresented the faith and belief of Latter-day Saints."

"Let me state it clearly," Mouw said. "We evangelicals have sinned against you."

Mouw didn't flinch despite criticism of the apology by other evangelicals and published a book last year titled "Talking with Mormons: An Invitation to Evangelicals." He practices “convicted civility,” which he says is different from what he calls the “ ‘anything-goes’ compromised relativism so popular in American religion.”

Zacharias followed Mouw to the Tabernacle pulpit and delivered the first lecture by an internationally renowned evangelical leader in the Tabernacle in 105 years.

The Deseret News first reported earlier this month that Zacharias is scheduled to return to the Tabernacle in January at the LDS Church's invitation. He also will speak at BYU as part of a "Faith, Family and Society" lecture series that brought both Moore's predecessor, Richard Land, and Assemblies of God general superintendent George Wood to BYU in September and included an October address by Albert Mohler, head of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. (Please see the Deseret News Q&As with Land, Wood and Mohler.)

Mohler is scheduled to return to BYU to speak at a nationally televised campus forum in February.

What is motivating the dialogue?

Mormons and evangelicals agree on issues like religious liberty, humanitarian aid and the importance of families.

Talking to Religion News Service writer Adelle M. Banks, the LDS Church's director of interfaith relations, John Taylor, said, “There’s a realization among faith groups generally that despite doctrinal differences — and we have doctrinal differences, there’s no question about that — we do have areas of commonality."

It's interesting that Mormons are delighted, of course, to think it's a possibility they could be accepted as Christians by some, they have sought this for eons,....but equally interesting, and rightfully, so is the Christian Community on a whole are not the least bit on board with this and will continue to expose their counterfeit Christianity and the impostor Christ they serve.

We know that as that day approaches there will be an inculsion and acceptance, in various forms, of all the faiths under the umbrella of a World Religious Council over these various faiths and beliefs.

Evangelicals and others are going into these various religions as the final opportunity for them to seek the true Christ and Christianity before they are so willfully blinded they will accept 'the great deception' when God sends it.....it will be too late then. And that day does appear to be drawing closer as we know.

I know there are differences in doctrine, but I think we have common concerns, values, morals and desires for our families and communities. We all want the freedom to practice our religions in peace and freedom. If we can work together in those areas it’s a good thing.

I disagree it’s simply differences in doctrines.....Christianity serves the Risen Christ Jesus...Mormonism teaches a counterfeit impersonator Christ...and that with all the trappings of a false religion.....The two are incompatible and diametrically opposed.

I understand you believe there is common ground.....but that common ground has nothing to do with accepting other faiths as Christian when they are clearly not.

Islam also has desires for family and community....values, morals and common concerns....as well as wanting freedom to practice their religion in Peace. As do Buddists and Hindu’s and those who believe in Voodoo.....they may see common ground as well but that does not include them as part of the Christian Community of Believers....nor do they seek that as Mormons do.

The difference between these other religions is they are seperate from Christianity and understand that they are....Mormons, on the other hand, have for years been trying to get the Christian Community to agree and accept that they are a part of “Christianity” when clearly they are not to any who take the time to investigate their history as well as their positioning throughout the world.....they are in fact a huge international corporation operating under a mask of religion which keeps their membership in monetary bondage to their organization and it’s leadership... and this in order to fund their investments, real estate and various enterprises worldwide.

You and I will differ on this pretty much entirely, as we have in the past....and will have to leave it at that.

thank you for your concept but that is not totally accordant sad you don’t know who you are but when one does become aware it is humbling and joyous experiences when the Holy Spirit bears witness.

Romans 8

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

1 John 3
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Rev 3
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Ps 82
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Matt 5
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Fri..Nov. 8,2013.........."Mormon Church increases its land stake in Florida"

( As I said The Mormon Church is a huge 'international corporation' operating with a religious mask in order to keep it's membership in financial bondage to it's leadership in order to fund their investments worldwide ...Here is todays news on one of their most recent investment...millions of membership dollars for their investors to attain this property, and htis is just one of many!)

The Mormon church stands to own nearly 2 percent of Florida by completing a deal to buy most of the real estate of the St. Joe Co. for more than a half-billion dollars.

The megapurchase was announced jointly Thursday by a 'corporate' representative of church, which already owns the nearly 295,000-acre Deseret Ranches in Central Florida. According to the announcement, "a church entity, ...(AgReserves Inc. 'a company 'of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,)....... will maintain timber and agricultural uses of the Panhandle acreage, according to the announcement................ will buy 382,834 acres – the majority of St. Joe's timberlands – in Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty and Wakulla counties for $565 million.

Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam praised the announced deal as.." long-term investment" in the state's timber and cattle business".......

.....Desert Ranches already owned by the Mormon Corporation....with 44,000 head of cattle,.... the ranch property also is 'one of the nation's largest producers of calves' and manages thousands of acres of citrus groves, vegetable farms and timberlands..

Mormon Members pay for these investment by extortion from it's members ...."rules" for tithing through sacrifice

Not true....though Mormonism does brainwash it's members to believe that.....Your’re leadership is laughing all the way to the banks on their huge profits, but because the members are so indoctrinated that this is for their good, via false teachings by it's leadership,....it is more than difficult for it's members to see through the ‘fog of deception’ they are under.

Mormons are under the false impression they will be sustained by these investments in real estate, farms etc cattle...as well as their hotels and various other investments by their leadership......what they do not realize is there will be a selection of those favored elites within Mormonism as well as those who are not members....who will be the only ones who benefit. The overall membership is not included...they are storing up for the elites and can't see through the fog to discern their intentions.

You are venturing out into the world of ideas again by posting this?

Will it get pulled, as others have been in the past, by the original poster, when the direction of ‘dialog’ fails to go in the intended path?

Wouldn’t it be safer to make it ECUMENICAL?

I suspect they’ll drop off before they will look at the truth of their leaderships deceptions.....much like Obama supporters...they cannot grasp the truth, nor do they want to know it, because it is simply too painful to imagine they’ve genuinely been fooled...and often for years and years of their life.

Catholic, LDS Members Collaborate on Christmas Film (+trailer)

Besides the acreage on which the Jerusalem Motion Picture Set is located, the property includes desert similar to the Judean Plains, sand dunes, a river that ideally resembles the ancient River Jordan where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, and an area suited for the Garden of Gethsemane where the Savior atoned for the sins of mankind.

SURE He did!!!

Some things can only be understood through the spirit of the Lord not a man earthly conception.

John 14
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.

25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, (a)he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

(this is clear as day yet it does not compute in some)

29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

31 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. Isaiah 57
13 ¶When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;

14 And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.

15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,** to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.

17 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.

18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the Lord; and I will heal him.

20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

**
Moroni 10
3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts.

4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.

5 And (a)by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.

6 And whatsoever thing is good is just and true; wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledgeth that he is.

7 And ye may know that he is, by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore I would exhort you that ye deny not the power of God; for he worketh by power, according to the faith of the children of men, the same today and tomorrow, and forever.

8 And again, I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered; but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them.

(a)There is no other way to know these things but by the power of the Holy Ghost!
