For Pelosi Late-Term Abortion is "Sacred Ground"

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi put her foot in her mouth again today during a press conference, calling the battle to keep late-term abortions legal sacred ground.

“As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this,” Pelosi said about efforts to stop late-term abortions. “This shouldn’t have anything to do with politics.”

During the press conference, in response to a reporter’s question, Pelosi was upset to be asked about the gruesome abortions and infanticides done by Kermit Gosnell and indicated she opposes a bill a committee approved yesterday to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Pelosi falsely called the bill a ban on all abortions.

“They would make it a federal law that there would be no abortion in our country,” Pelosi said.

Maureen Ferguson, Senior Policy Advisor for The Catholic Association, blasted Pelosi’s comments in an email to LifeNews:

“After witnessing firsthand the atrocious human rights abuses taking place inside America’s late-term abortion clinics it is amazing that this did not touch Nancy Pelosi’s heart. What we learned from the Gosnell trial and what we understand is going on inside other clinics is not only human rights abuse but it also puts women in harm’s way. The only difference between the Gosnell ‘after-birth’ abortions and legal late-term abortions is the location of the baby at the time of death. And contrary to Pelosi’s extreme claim that the Franks bill is ‘disrespectful’ to women, the majority of women are opposed to late-term abortions according to a recent Gallup poll.”

I wish we could abort her. Drawing and quartering is too good for her and her ilk.

The comments were made over the summer, however don't know if someone posted them. I am sure our Catholic FRiends will no doubt list why she is NOT a "practicing and respectful Catholic..."

Conservative Catholics — both politically and religiously — can now rejoice: due to her House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) longstanding support for abortion, she must be denied Communion under the law of the Catholic Church, said Chief Justice Cardinal Raymond Burke, head of the highest court at the Vatican. Burke referenced Canon 915, a part of Canon law which states those Catholics who obstinately persevere “in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.” As Cardinal Burke noted, “[Pelosi] is a person who obstinately, after repeated admonitions, persists in a grave sin...

She is not a practicing and respectful Catholic.

Watch/read this in context and you’ll understand where she’s coming from (though not agree with it, as I don’t).

She was speaking in context of having a number of children.
I’m sure she felt put-upon for having to bear them and raise them.

This is a liberty issue for her - freedom from bearing and raising children. That’s the context in which she made this “sacred ground” statement. That might be more important to revealing her mindset than trying to shoehorn her abortion views into some warped form of her religion.

Abortion is the one hill on which Democrats will never surrender. They are highly principled when it comes to aborting the unborn.

One of the reasons is that so many women have aborted their own children, and want government’s continual re-assurance that they have done no wrong. These women are a core Democrat constituency.

These women are a core Democrat constituency.

This is true, and also a large number of RINO women have aborted, or want to abort, so they could be included in that core group.

I saw an article about Cardinal Burke’s decision. Now the question will be if local priests in the DC area and SF will obey.

Very telling the above. Why it seems the GOPe (RINOs) are always hiding the Pro-Life candidates and activists.

Yes, but such entertainment value for the spectators.

Are you kidding? She’s ready for the Host every Sunday and some renegade priest is ready and willing to see that she gets it.

Excommunication? For her and other prominent heretics? It will never happen.
