Many feel that Christmas marks Christ's birthday and that it honors Him. After all, can 2 billion professing Christians be wrong? At the same time, some few Christians don't observe Christmas, believing that Jesus didn't sanction it and that it dishonors Him. Who is rightand why?

The United Church of God, an International Association is just a few years old (founded in 1995) but tries to act like they are the one, true and Catholic Church. See http://www.ucg.org/about/ for their own words..."The United Church of God, today active with congregations in more than 50 countries, began as a formal assembly in 1995..."

Please ping me to note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of general interest.
The United Church of God, which seems to be a spinoff of Herbert W. Armstrong’s Worldwide Church of God, adheres to a number of beliefs that differ considerably from Roman Catholicism and traditional Protestantism.
400,000 independent Catholic denominations can't be wrong!
I celebrate it because I like joyous occasions, and God coming to earth as man to do what He did is...kind of cool.
Aside from that, sorry, I don’t mean to be unkind but...who are these guys?
There are not 400,000 Catholic denominations.
Where are you getting that number. Source please.
And the fakes come out in force! Making stuff up again?
Yeah, I saw Fiji Hill’s post and also Googled.
The Worldwide Church of God is still (sort of) a thing? Who knew?

Any one who has studied history knows that Jesus was NOT born in the cold and freezing month of December .more likely in September around the time of Yom Kippur. The celebrations by the pagans of the winter solstice led the church to incorporate those celebrations into its system to gain support.
Those are the facts of history.
I enjoy Christmas time because it has become by tradition a time to celebrate, spend time with friends and family, and to ponder the wonder of God
WHAT were you thinking, man? You’ve just unleashed 2 billion (or 15, depending on your perspective) angry, purse-lipped vehicles of mass obstruction around here. Quick, smoke them slowly (you do have an incense burner?) until they calm down.
LOL == the main page of FR?
Where do the FR sedevacantists, Lefevbrists, SSPX and radical traditionalists who denounce Vatican II fit in there?
No, FR in general.
We have been told as much by members of the FRoman Catholic faith group.
Where do the “charismatic” Catholics fit in there? Are they an independent group or a subset of one of the seven you gave?
shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiachI will explain with the help of the WORD of G-d through the
illumination of the Holy Spirit, who was sent to all mankind
to help us come to Know the Holy WORD of G-d.Chanukah is a great time for followers of the Jewish Messiah to celebrate.
The eight day Feast of Chanukah echoes of the eight days of the Feast of Tabernacles
Chanukah was most likely when the "light of the world"
(John 8:12) entered human form and tabernacled among us.
Feast of Tabernacles is the birth day of Yah'shua.
This question is answered when you believe and trust
the Holy Word of Elohim in Luke 1.
Yah'shua's birth on Sukkot
(Sukkot is the Feast of Tabernacles or booths,
where we live in temporary shelters.
Sukkot is when YHvH took on a temporary
garment to be with His People
and to die as the Lamb of G-d on Pesach
in order to bring salvation to all
who would call on His NAME:
(Romans 10:13 & Joel 2:32)
Yah'shua ( YHvH is/be my salvation)).Exod. 15:2; 1 Sam. 2:1; 2 Sam. 22:47;
Ps. 18:2, 46; 27:1; 35:9; 38:22; 88:1;
118:14; 119:174; 140:7; Isa. 12:2; 56:1;
61:10; Mic. 7:7; Hab. 3:18Sukkot as the date is supported by Elizabeth's
pregnancy of John the Immerser.
The time sequence is outlined by the
Holy Word of Elohim in Luke 1 with Zacharias.Zacharias served as a high priest and
based on his tribe, we know when he served
(1 Chronicles 24:7-18) and when he was
struck dumb and when John was conceived.John would have been born on Pesach.
Most Jews believed that Elijah
would come at Pesach to announce
the coming of the Messiah (Malachi 4:5).Factor in when Miriam visited her cousin Elizabeth,
Elizabeth was six months pregnant (Luke 1:26)
Thus the timing of Yah'shua's birth can be ascertained.John (1:14) tells us that Yah'shua was made flesh
and tabernacled among us.The word "dwelt" in the Koine Greek is:
σκηνόω Strong's G4637 - skēnoō
1) to fix one's tabernacle,
have one's tabernacle,
abide (or live) in a tabernacle (or tent),
tabernacle
2) to dwellEight days after the beginning of Sukkot is
another Holy Feast Day called Shemini Atzeret.Eight days after a Jewish male is born he is circumcised.
After the Eighth day comes the the most Joyous day:
Simchat Torah or
the rejoicing in the Torah (The WORD of Elohim).Nine months back from Sukkot is Chanukah
where the light entered the temple.Seek the YHvH in His WORD.
See Psalm 118
8 It is better to take refuge in YHvH Than to trust in man.9 It is better to take refuge in YHvH Than to trust in princes.
14 YHvH is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation.
