Fine. How about John 8:32; “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” Difficult to say which Bible verse is the “best” as the entire Bible is perfect, not to be judged individually, but just a thought.

Meanwhile, among liberals, the most commonly quoted Bible verse is, “Judge not, and ye shall not be judged.”

It’s a powerful message. Personal redemption is the aim.

7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

A wise man’s heart directs him toward the right, but the foolish man’s heart directs him toward the left.

It’s one of the biblical warnings about a phenomenon I sometimes call “spiritual blowback.”

I.e. you get the same kind of spirit that you share, whether it be one to bless or one to curse.

The Christian way to deal with a sinner having a problem with a particular sin, is to endeavor to bless the sinner out of the sin. If you find yourself seeking to curse the sinner, then (1) you’re probably a hypocrite, with the same spiritual deficiency yourself; (2) it will stink when the spiritual blowback comes.

It’s really that simple. It’s another way of stating the golden rule.

Mostly verifying how “me” centered today’s Christianity is, instead of Christ-centered, God-centered.

Why not Matt. 6:9, 10; Rev. 4:8, 11, 5:9, 10, 12 - 14, 22:12, 13, 16?

If “I” have to be in it, why not Philippians 3:8 - 11?

The day is coming when He shall be the center of all things, not “me”.

Why not let that day be now?

For that’s the way it will be for all of eternity......the work of redemption is wonderful, and few truly comprehend its height and depth (Eph. 1:15 - 23), but its object is NOT that “I” may become something - it is that He may become “all in all”.

To me it simply says that you should not concern yourself with the defects of others, since it is your own defects that will be the cause of your judgement. When you are busy judging others, you don’t realise that this is the judgement that will be made of you, so concern yourself with your own judgment.

The intent is to knock you off your pedestal.

“the love of many shall wax cold”

This explains a lot of heartache, especially lately, since it is supposed to happen in the final days. A very consoling verse, in a strange way.

The most important verse in the Bible?

The Word from God that you need for that very moment.

Just reading through the first few comments, I have to laugh at how quickly the actual topic is lost.

The article is not about which verse is most IMPORTANT, or which is the BEST, but which verse was most bookmarked and shared.

As for the actual winner, it is kind of heartening to see that in these difficult times, people are seeing that they need God.

There are rightful judgments to be made. If you are strong in an area where someone is weak, you have the right and indeed the duty to show that someone the right way to go.
