Pastor Tim Christensen of Gold Hill Lutheran Church in Montana was put in a difficult situation on Sunday morning.
...49ers fan Pastor Christensen decided to perform a one-minute service then rush out to catch the game on television.
"Would you all like to be forgiven for your sins? OK, that's great. You are," before adding "there's some bread and some wine up here on the table. Feel free to help yourself if you'd like to."
Opening up his vestment to reveal a 49ers T-shirt, the pastor then shouts, "I'm out of here".

Prison chaplain.
I see that it was a joke, nevermind.
Things of the world are more important than things of God?
Just saw the the satire tag.

It’s not satire, but misreporting by the original site.
I still think it is tacky that he would even do something like this as a joke.
I remember seeing a church on I-35 between Temple and Dallas that advertised a 30 minute service, “for those who are too busy to give God an hour”...
It was probably still 45 seconds too long —
We all have our priorities, eh?
(shame he didn’t know we now have the technology to let him tape his football fame...)
Later in the day, iirc.
If he observed God’s biblical calendar and not the world’s calendar, last Gregorian day sunday was a work day(actually the 2nd day of the 2nd work week in God’s 10th month).
The tenth of January (friday) was the Sabbath..and the 17th(next friday) on the world’s calendar will be the next Sabbath.
That sun and moon combined were used before smart phones and wall calendars... seemed to work in the wilderness with no barley harvest too...
That was funny!
Some people need to lighten up.
Jesus and I love the 49ers.
The Lutheran Satire said about this incident: “But, at the same time, this is literally the 3,497th least offensive thing that happened in an ELCA congregation last Sunday:-)”
Sad but true.
