The War on Porn

Pornography has become increasingly prevalent and available since the early 1950s when Playboy magazine first forced its way into the mainstream.

Sadly, those who have opposed the spread of porn during this time have been defeated at every turn. Efforts to eliminate adult bookstores, adult movie theatres, adult movie rentals and adult cable stations have all failed.

With porn now available on every screen and some sort of screen available to every person, we can fairly say that the war is now over. All attempts to block the flood of porn have failed. We have lost the war on porn.

The New Objective

In the face of failure, the goals have changed

With the widespread availability of limitless free porn on the internet...the question is “how do they make money?

We lost the War on Porn

Unfortunately, you are correct. We also lost the wars on poverty and drugs.

Not a good track record.

The wife and I watched the Blu-ray of NIAGARA last night starring Marilyn Monroe. You’ll never see a star like Marilyn again, as there would be no incentive for men to go and see her on the big screen when they can see all the porn they want on the internet.

>>Blame the lost war on city and county officials.

Up until 1995, that was true, but porn was so much more limited just by the means of distribution back then that it really wasn’t a big problem.

After the internet revolution, the first order of business was mainstreaming porn and making it easy to get, cheap, and digital.

Once the porn became cheap and easy to find, the next step was in bringing masturbation out of the bathroom. Shows like “Sex in the City” and the “American Pie” movies have made masturbation into an act as socially-acceptable as defecating. It’s not something you normally do in front of people, but its no big deal if they know you’re doing it right now.

The final step was sexualizing everything. Now, the man who suffers from lust problems can get that fire re-ignited constantly. Once the fire is lit, he can gain easy access to porn, and he’s back in the game.

Honestly, I think the real ‘war’ is at the level of how we value ourselves as spiritual human beings, and what we teach our children - not just by what we tell them, but by how we live. We've let life become devalued, in general. The ‘intellectual’ flight to secularism, and the characterization of religious faith as anti-intellectual 'superstition’ has had profound effects.

We don't seem to want to be more than our organic selves anymore. We should be so very much more than the sum of our appetites. We are capable of so much more.

Its so simple-make all porn have a .xxx instead of a .com ending.

Parents can then simply ban .xxx from their service.

I honestly believe that internet porn is designed to make no money and is clandestinely financed by an organization that pledges allegiance to Satan. And, they’re all leftist, God-less loons who get an immediate vicarious thrill knowing they’ve trapped another poor sucker who enjoys watching others copulate.

Pornography is just another distressing signal of the demise and sinking of societies into hell.

Pornography, homosexuality, lesbianism, drug use are all divisions of the Satan Corporation of which many of our politicians are either believers, or they are sycophants.

I’m old enough to remember back in the late-70’s/early-80’s when “feminists” greatly deplored pornography on the basis that it degraded and objectified women.

Then, the porn industry started funneling money to the DemoncRAT Party (think Larry Flynt), and there hasn’t been a peep from the feministas since.

The definition of porn is in the eye of the beholder.

I worked on a case with an attorney and a District Judge wanted the county judge out of office, so she got a friend Texas Ranger to say a picture of a young man on the judge’s computer was a “child” and charged him with having child pornography on his county computer. I knew that judge was not guilty of having child porn and we got that charge dropped and having porn on the computer was still charged. The county had NO rules about employees using county computers.

As a result, I wrote on a website that was dedicated to this case, that there was no definition of porn. Where does porn start? Some people would say if a woman’s ankles show, that is porn. Some might say showing her arms is porn. Some might say having on a low cut blouse is porn. With men it would be the same. If a man’s bare legs are shown, is that porn? If he has his shirt off, that might be porn to someone.

I went to that website where the young man’s photo was and there were men undressed but that website is legal. Any site showing naked children and you frequent that website, would put you in prison. Any owner of a child porn website will go to prison. Those are outlawed and the FBI is constantly trying to find those sites and shut them down with the owner going to prison. I went to other so called porn sites. If you go to the Playboy website, you can see naked women and that site is not against the law and neither are the others I went to.

Because I went to these websites, I had ads coming to my computer from those sites until I no longer had that computer. Those sites grab your computer and you never stop getting stuff from them.

So, your definition of porn may not be like another person’s definition.

Back in the early 80s, there were articles in Cosmo about how to be respected in your relationships and career. As a young woman, I found that helpful. Then that editor who had been a “kept woman” took over and realized that sex sold more makeup ads than sensible advice did. It’s been all about how to please your man in different ways ever since.

Now, looking back at any photos from the 80s, I am amazed at how clothed women are in the pictures, compared to what is being worn now, at all ages and stages of life.

Well, now I think I should go spend some time parenting my teenage girl, who has to live in this milieu.

It is a devistating legal drug. Warn your children and try to abstain yourself. It is not good for you.

Then again, somebody inside his house jacking off to Internet porn is not outside raping women.

So you're saying that men lose interest in mainstream movies featuring beautiful women, because they all prefer to watch internet porn instead?

How many moons are in the sky on your planet?

Apart from folks’ souls being imperiled the scariest thing is that the first ever generation to have a constant, instant, and free access to porn will be the ones in charge fairly soon.

Serial Killer, Ted Bundy reported that he got started on porn.

COINCIDENCE: Since “Dr.” Alfred Kinsey and Hugh Heffner collaborated to start the Porn Pandemic, serial killings have vastly increased and children have to be constantly watched.

While the article expresses the priority of the spiritual side of this issue, I think the best legal weapon against porn and selling sex in general is to take away the profit motive.

Grant no intellectual property rights to anything that uses sex, sensuality, nudity, or erotic appeal. That would not change what people can make or view (or read, etc.) but would greatly reduce the production of porn and other sex selling media.

Hollywood might clean up its act a little if it hit their pocket book. It would pretty much destroy the porn industry.
