A first grader in California has been told shes not permitted to talk about the Bible at school. A teacher at Temecula Valley School told her first grade class to bring an object to school that represented a family Christmas tradition and then give a one-minute presentation. Brynn Williams brought the star that tops her familys Christmas tree and shared how her family remembers Jesus birth at Christmas. The star is named the Star of Bethlehem, Brynn said. The three kings followed the star to find the baby Jesus, the Savior of the world. Brynn had planned to end her presentation by reciting the famous Bible verse John 3:16, but her teacher stopped her before she could say more. Brynns teacher told her to stop right there and sit back down. The teacher then explained to Brynn in front of the entire class that she was not allowed to talk about the bible or quote its verses in school. Brynns mother met with the principal about this issue, and the principal backed up the teacher. She said the schools policy is to protect students from being offended.

Why even have such an assignment then? Does the school even know what Christmas is?
At the last place where I worked, a Fortune 500 company, they had a written rule outlawing any religious discussion. (Also, jokes, and any “potentially insulting, inflammatory or inappropriate” conversation.)
Several people kept tiny crosses visible on their desks; I think as a silent protest. I almost got written up for a conversation HR overheard in the lunch room about concealed carry and preferred weapons. She was “offended.”
“Brynns mother met with the principal about this issue, and the principal backed up the teacher. She said the schools policy is to protect students from being offended.”
You can bet though if the subject was Islam, it would have been smooth sailing.
Large scale overt and passive resistance is the only thing that is going to stop this crap in the long run.
. She said the schools policy is to protect students from being offended.
Bullsh!t.....theses policies are intended so some TEACHERS and many administrators are not offended...
HOME.... SCHOOL!
HOME.... SCHOOL!
Yup. It’s a hot war.
Government school is child abuse.
I hope they go through with it. It's high time Christians stop turning the other cheek and start acting like Old Testament warriors.
There are organizations who will gladly sue the school district into bankruptcy over this.
Maybe, maybe not.
Imagine if the story went like this.
The three wise men followed the path of the shooting star and found the baby Jesus in a manger.
There were some not so wise men that followed the same path later, and found where the 'star'(meteorite) had crashed to the ground. They took it and worshiped it. They built their whole religion around it and called it Islam. They decided that if you kissed it, their God would protect you. To display it, they decided to enshroud it in the one thing that is rare in their land, and that is a toilet seat.
the principal backed up the teacher. She said the schools policy is to protect students from being offended.
Unless it offends Christian students.
Did you really think there’s something called “freedom of speech?” There isn’t, and hasn’t been for a few decades.
Funny, wasn't the kid offended that she had to sit down and shutup before her presentation was finished?
Didn't mention the teachers name. Doesn't matter, she and the principal of the school will be segregated with the goats on judgment day.

Does every school in America have to be sued individually before they stop trying to quash our children’s rights?
Another reason to homeschool.
