Turkey would be a close second for very similar reasons.
I’m actually more concerned about Islam’s war on civilization.
More books are translated into Spanish in one year than have ever been translated into Arabic.
RE: Iran is the most culturally advanced country in the Islamic orbit
I think Turkey is.
Depends on how you define “Islamic orbit”. Turkey is still, thankfully, an officially secular country even though it is ruled by Islamic orbit wanna bes.
There’s no crying in baseball, and there’s no FUN in Islam!
An object lesson; if they'd had a bigger defense budget then...
I’d replace the word “fun” with “humor.” We in the west have lots of fun and I think we’re entertaining ourselves to death. Humor, meanwhile, denotes self-deprecation, irony, an ability to laugh at human foibles and to forgive others.
The Root Cause cause: a “religion” that was founded by a pedophile who “married” a 6 year old girl and began serially raping her when she turned 9.
It is absolutely impossible for anything other than pure evil to flow from the “teachings” of such a Founder.
And 1.2 billion people follow those “teachings”.
That is the root cause.
And if you’re not willing to talk about The Root Cause you might as well dance to the music of “Happy” because you are adding nothing to the discussion.
I agree. I like the word “humor” better. I like the word “love” even better.
This explains a lot about Obama. He’s the most humorless “leader” since Lenin.
“And if youre not willing to talk about The Root Cause you might as well dance to the music of Happy because you are adding nothing to the discussion.”
Just don’t try that in Iran - 100 lashes!
Both good words. Both lacking in Islam.
And Stalin was a barrel of laughs?
The OP pointed out that Obama’s humor-level is on par with that of Stalin.
Btw, TS, that is an excellent observation. In Stalin’s case, though I’m no expert, my guess is that wild, out of control, obsessive/overwhelming paranoia accounted for his humorlessness.
In Obama’s case, he has to be on the alert every waking minute for any hint of disrespect. His Malignant Narcissism is so out of control that it takes all his time & energy to assure himself he is receiving sufficient respect. [A word, interestingly enough, he cannot spell.]
The result in both cases is the same: a constantly serious, no fun, no humor, no spontaneity bore. Then of course you had Stalin responding to his paranoia by purging great masses of innocent people. Obama spending his time spitefully harming anyone & everyone he feels has shown insufficient admiration of him.
What a pair.
spending = spends
And thank you Jimmy Carter for letting the Shah fall. What could be worse than a tyrant-king? How about a country ruled by humorless, homicidal, religious fanatics? I don't think even the commies clamped down on fun like Islamist countries.
I read an interesting story, that claimed that Christianity, not fighting skills, saved England from the Vikings. The religion of the Vikings was extremely harsh, and probably one of the only religions ever created where the gods themselves die. This is not a very uplifting or positive message. The Vikings “conquered”, and then settled down in northern England, married, converted, and generally assimilated.
You can always tell how weak and flimsy a society's guiding principles are by the following:
1) how much they must mandate compliance
2) how much they must spy on the people to monitor dissent
3) how much they have to camouflage what they stand for
4) how little their principles apply to the behavior of the ruling class, the hypocrisy of the principles in action
5) how their programs constantly fail and fail in monumental crashes
6) how viciously they treat any dissent
EVERY tyranny fails because it is a cult wrapped in a STATE flag
