To Rev. Franklin Graham
"Watchmen on the Wall Conference" 2014

Billy Graham, Jerry Falwell, J. Vernon McGee, Dr. James Dobson ... all great Christian leaders and bible teachers of America in the 1960s thru 1990s ...

Or were they ?

For all the great works they did for Christ's church in America, IS IT POSSIBLE they made one (1) grave mistake ?

I declare that they did, to the detriment of at least TWO American generations ...

And I respectfully challenge Rev. Franklin Graham (and the other Conference speakers) to ACKNOWLDGE THEIR MISTAKE and APOLOGIZE to their Church Congregations.

These Christian men, along with thousands of other American Pastors are indirectly RESPONSIBLE for:

1964 : Removal of the Bible and Prayer from Public Schools

1973 : U.S. Supreme Court "Roe vs. Wade" ruling, with 63 million aborted babies as of 2014. These Christian men, along with thousnads of other

These Christian leaders's DELIBERATE "ignoring of a CLEAR scriptural principle" led DIRECTLY to these GREAT JUDGEMENTS oF GOD upon The United States in the years past 2000.

No Compromise,

You wrote ...

On the subject of the government extending 'tax-exempt' status.. That in and of itself does not constitute an alarming situation.

Paul (you may have heard of him, he wrote a couple of books that are in the New Testament Canon, including one that was a letter to the Romans) informs us that governments are ordained by God and are to be obeyed.

If the government extends to you a 'status' (for want of a better word) there is nothing wrong with that per se.

What could happen, and where the real danger lies with the Church accepting 'tax-exempt' status is if and when the government uses that 'status' it has granted to control the message. At that point we will see who is rendering what to whom.

You're correct about "obeying the government" reference in the Pauline Epistles; those references parallel what Jesus Christ said in "Render Unto Caesar".

Sure, Christians are commanded to obey the Government, but only as long as it doesn't violate The LORD's commands.

Daniel Chapter 3 tells how Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego REFUSED to obey the King's order to bow-down and worship him.

They obeyed "Thou Shalt have No other Gods but Me".

So what's the "evil aspect" about IRS 501-C3 tax-exempt status ?

It's VERY SIMPLE.

"Who" is the Ultimate Source/Power in Your Life ?

The IRS will ATTACK-PUNISH your church if they see your tax-exempt church is endorsing Pro-Life, Anti-Gay-Sodomite, or Anti-Obamacare candidates by NAME.

The IRS will ATTACK-PUNISH your church if they see your tax-exempt church is endorsing Pro-Life, Anti-Gay-Sodomite, or Anti-Obamacare Legistation by NAME and NUMBER.

"Any" Christian Pastor who submits to this "tax-exempt blackmail" has TRADED his EXCLUSIVE obedience to The LORD for obedience to the IRS.

Pure and simple.

Your Pastor CANNOT say that he's obeyed "Thou Shalt have No other Gods but Me".

No Compromise, if I offered you $ 10,000 to NOT pass-out Gospel tracts, would you accept the agreement ?

No Compromise, if I offered your Pastor $ 10,000 to critize "President Barrack Hussein Obama" (by name) for his parade of illegal and ungodly activities ...
well, your Pastor has ALREADY acepted that agreement, vis-a-vis IRS 501-C3.

Your Pastor CANNOT say that he's obeyed "Thou Shalt have No other Gods but Me".

This is a HARD fact to deal with; it took me five years to deal with.

The ONLY solution is for you to pray for your pastor, e-mail him IRS P1828, and encourage your church to JETTISON IRS 501-C3.

Rev. Franklin Graham "isn't" responsible for the events in either 1964 or 1973 ...

but with all due respect to a genuinely great man, Franklin Graham's father (Rev. Billy Graham" "is" indirectly responsible.

Well, if at first you don't succeed, shift the blame. [rolls eyes]

“Does your pastor ever mention political candidates for public office by NAME ?”

No. He discusses social issues from a biblical perspective, but the members of our church don’t like having the pastor recommend votes from the pulpit.

“Does your pastor ever ENDORSE (pending) Legislation by NAME and NUMBER ?”

No. He once endorsed a law after it was passed, and the congregation jumped in his chili. I don’t think any of us view him as endowed with special insight into legislative matters. Legislative matters often involve economics, constitutional issues and/or a knowledge of history in an area such as water rights that he has no background in. If you asked him about Arizona’s knife laws, for example, he would be clueless - and he cheerfully admits it.

He did oppose a recent Southern Baptist Convention motion on illegal immigration, and in fact was the one who stood up and objected to the wording. In the end, it passed in a revised version by a few votes, but he pointed out to the congregation that A) no member church and no church member is required to follow it, and B) the vote involved well just a tiny fraction of attendees - most were off doing other things and never saw the proposal.

His main objection was that the SBC was discussing it, when the issue did not involve clear-cut biblical direction. It depends on how one weights compassion and wanting to help others vs obeying the law and HOW one shows compassion. Sincere Christians can differ on the right answer, and it isn’t the ‘business’ of the SBC to tell others more than what the Bible tells us to tell others.

Abortion, homosexuality, adultery, the fallen nature of man, man’s natural desire to rebel against God - these are biblical truths that will affect how we vote. Our desire to follow God, what God has said about right & wrong - these are what the pastor should focus on, and let individual members vote as they are led, and to whatever degree they are willing to be led, by the Holy Spirit.

“”Does your pastor ever ENDORSE (pending) Legislation by NAME and NUMBER ?”

Does the Bible? Nope.

“What about that (possible) church title and offering write-off on your Federal Tax Return.”

I always end up taking the standard deduction. If I didn’t, then all the IRS gets is my annual list of contributions. There have been a few times in my life that I took itemized deductions, and no one ever questioned me on it.

“Are you REALLY willing to make that phone call (inviting the IRS to audit your church) ?”

No more so and no less so than I am willing to call the IRS and ask them to audit MY returns...
