How a Protestant spin machine hid the truth about the English Reformation

Today, May 23, is the anniversary of King Henry VIII’s divorce from Catherine of Aragon — the event which started the English Reformation.

In 2003, Charles Clarke, Tony Blair’s Secretary of State for Education and Skills, expressed strong views on the teaching of British history.

I don’t mind there being some medievalists around for ornamental purposes, but there is no reason for the state to pay for them.

In response, Michael Biddiss, professor of medieval history at Reading University, suggested that Mr Clarke’s view may have been informed by Khrushchev’s notion that historians are dangerous people, capable of upsetting everything.

In many ways, Khrushchev was correct. Historians can be a distinct threat — both those who create “official” history, and those who work quietly to unpick it, filling in the irksome and unhelpful details.

A great article about the reformers trying their best to completely erase 1,000 years of Catholicism from England's storied history. "The evidence shows that it actually took the Tudors around 45 years to eradicate all memory of this country’s Catholic past"

So the muslims, athiests, and leftists are persecuting Christians all over the world and divisive articles like this are a positive?

Just think how many little, innocent boys wish they could erase 1000 years of Catholicism

Logic you have presented:
Some Americans have done evil things therefore America is evil.

I suggest you learn a lot more about everything in order to improve yourself.

“Bloody Mary’s” death toll pales in comparison to Elizabeth’s - both in terms of total quantity and rate. The Protestants will eventually recognize the authority of the Church that Christ founded.

Father Luther.

I visited the famous study of Father Martin Luther's in Wartburg Castle (Germany) and had the DARK STAIN pointed out to us.

I have NO DOUBT that Satan tried to tempt FATHER Luther. FATHER Luther (10 November 1483 – 18 February 1546) was a German monk, Catholic priest and professor of theology.
That made him a TARGET for Satan and his evil minions. I hope that some of the ink got on ole Beelzebub.

Poor ole Henry. He went though SIX wives to get a son. He did finally have one but the son died in his teens I think.
A queen ended up ruling anyway.

From Google: Edward VI (12 October 1537 – 6 July 1553) was King of England and Ireland from 28 January 1547 until his death. He was crowned on 20 February at the age of nine. The son of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour, Edward was the third monarch of the Tudor dynasty and England's first monarch raised as a Protestant.

=============================

The best laid plans...
Now there is Charles and Camilla...and Prince Charles' and Princess Diana's sons.

Why I follow Christ alone, without the aid of mega Popes, mega Preachers, mega churches, praying to dead people, praying to crosses, praying to chinese made beads, praying to statues.

There’s no need to delete; the old one is more than four hours old.

I was merely pointing-out that it was further discussed elsewhere.

IMHO anyone seeking to sow discord, resentment, and anger among followers of Christ is doing the work of Satan. Especially at a time in history like now where Christians are being murdered, jailed, and otherwise persecuted.

but what do I know.
