How about not giving them any encouragement in their false religion and their false god? How about not praying with non-Catholics?

You know, acting like Catholic popes did before the Vatican II nonsense.

RE: The Pope means well,

Which is to say he has GOOD INTENTIONS.

You know the old saying attributed to Saint Bernard of Clairvaux about good intentions....

Just WOW! So when they come for us having pissed off the Protestants and Jews, how is that going to leave us. I have no idea why you are so fixated on Pre-VatII, but I am pretty sure we ain't going back there.

That’s a false dilemma. The choice don’t have to be belligerence versus getting co-opted. The advice of Christ, whose vicar he claims to be, is to be harmless as doves, but wise as serpents, right? So please, Francis, don’t set us up for major hurt later by encouraging those who want us all dead that their Allah has given them what they consider the capitol of Christianity. Stupid stupid stupid. Sorry. I don’t mean to offend. But it is stupid. And if its not stupid, its far far worse than anyone knows.

See post 7. I think that a Pope has finally done what most thought was impossible, he’s got Catholics hating him every bit as much as the protestants do. That’s amazing. Oh well, I’m not doing any good here. Cheers!

Well I am 50 and VatII is over 50 freaking years ago. So..... I don’t think were going back. But if that is what your life is about, OK with me.

Francis is not my favorite Pope by along shot, but I just don't get why people are gunning for him every time he does something.

I'm not Catholic, but my overall impression of Francis is quite positive. My worry here is that the Vatican inter-faith ceremony, while well-intentioned, was actually an islamic propaganda coup.

It would seem to me that a tit-for-tat approach would have been better, and more helpful: hold inter-faith ceremonies at the Vatican, Jerusalem, AND Mecca.

I am around the same age as you, so I’m not sure why that is relevant.

I am very concerned that you are right: that we’re not going back. In fact, I think things are going to get worse. We are going to get further and further away from Traditional Catholicism and further and further into Modernism.

I pray for divine intervention to turn the tides every time I pray the Rosary.

God is more than capable of protecting Jerusalem Himself, as He has done several times in the last few decades.

It and you all are being duped by islam.

Islam will not co-operate with any other religious system. It will not submit. It only wants to conquer.

It is doing to the Catholic church what it is doing to the USA, conquering by infiltration and policy changes, like this.....

Who is doing the bowing in this picture?

YOUR pope kissing the koran. Fits right in with YOUR Catechism of the Catholic church.

http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P29.HTM

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."330

The gates of hell are currently prevailing against your church. They're doing damage control from all the immorality and abuse by priests issues. They are showing signs of compromising with islam and the gay agenda.

Y'all are in mortal danger and if you think you're immune to it, you're toast. Read the first few chapters of the book of Revelation. Jesus does not accept divided loyalty and churches which go off the straight and narrow are no more.

Most Protestants ( pcusa and a few more excepted nowadays, alas) and Catholics and Jews and orthodox Christians all pray to the same God of Israel , etc. Doctrines notwithstanding. The one true God and Creator. Islam prays to the other guy, Islam openly teaches aggression, murder, and subjugation of Christians, Jews, Hindus and everybody else on Rock Three. Read the Koran and see for yourself. Watch the news and see all the murders bombings and church burnings by all sorts of islamicists all over the world. Satan’s agents on planet earth. The Holy Father would err most grievously if anything he says or does looks like it somehow “ legitimates” or approves of islamoNazism or any other version of obvious Satanism. Please pray for the Pope: May the good Lord guide him.

*means well* means nothing.

He is totally lacking in discernment.

Not a man I’d want in charge of my church.

But Catholics are stuck with him. They claim the Holy Spirit guided their Cardinals in selecting him as Christ’s representative on earth.

I can’t see Christ bowing to Baal.

I think you are all missing the point. John Paul II, Benedict and now Francis have been trying to figure out how to deal with Islam.

We are most certainly going back there once we realize how foolish we’ve been for the last 50 years. As Benedict rightly stated, VatII is not some super-council that invalidates all the others.

Christians are being exterminated in the Middle East while we play footsy with the imams who are responsible for it. We have lost our faith and they have not—which is sad because our faith is hope and love and theirs is sadness and tyranny.

I don’t think we appreciate how many Muslims yearn for something better but do not/cannot speak out because to do so is death.

Be wary of despair piusv. We've all read The Book...we know how this all ends.

I guess I just don't like to see your heart so troubled by it. The Church always ending up swinging the pendulum to far to the left or right. It takes a long time for it to stabilize.

Remember the awful liturgical dance? the guitar Masses? A lot of that has gone away. It is no where near as bad as back in the 70's when religious ed consisted of the sole concept of Jesus loves you here's a tambourine. Right, things have gotten better.

But I guess I would sincerely like to know what you want back. I personally miss the bells and incense and the old churches instead of these generic looking all purpose sanctuaries. But on the other hand I like that the Mass is in a language I understand. A priest I knew used to write his homilies in Polish and then try to translate them to English. I asked him why. He said it takes along time to really be able to think in another language. I know enough Latin to sing the traditional hymns. I miss the old ethnic neighborhoods where everyone was Catholic.

Now I just wish everyone would come to Mass sit down and shut up!

yes. fine.
how to deal with Islam...does not mean doing things that look like we’re endorsing or approving of it or affording it respect

this only misleads people who look to the Pope for guidance

When confronted with such stark, patent evil... we must stand firm in faith...and be ready to confront it, not kow-tow to it or kiss its posterior.

Ephesians 6:

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Do you not understand that Jerusalem is not for us to trifle with?

Francis has no interest or power over the fate of Jerusalem; he will be broken over this “Rock of offence.”

>> The real question is: Does the Pope actually believe Jesus when He claimed: “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to The Father but by me”? <<

.
The real question is “Does any catholic believe that?”

They pray to his Mommie because they know that they are not his, and have no audience with him.
