Instead of fighting over what was or wasn't said, let's instead ask this simple question:
Will the Pope now be going to Mecca to offer Christian prayers?
If the answer to that is yes, then all is well. If the answer to that is no, then the Pope has been duped, very badly duped.

I disagree that he is a fool. I think that he is trying to make inroads in order to save something that should be near a dear to every Christian and that is Jerusalem. I certainly do not want to see done to Jerusalem, what the muzzies did to those Buddhas. It is a very dicey situation.

Don’t worry about Jerusalem. God will take care of it. Worry about the dim-witted pope who is willing to consort with those who would cut all our throats if they could.

No, it’s not about fairness (and who in their right mind would want to go to Mecca?). The real question is: Does the Pope actually believe Jesus when He claimed: “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to The Father but by me”?

Maybe he needs to read a few accurate books on why some former Popes called for Crusades.
It is not just Pope Francis, it is so many of the Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops who act as if Islam is simply one more religion. Some of these idiots even speak of Islam as worshiping the same God as Christianity. All-in-all, a sad commentary on The hierarchy of the Catholic Church.
As a Catholic, I pray continually for the triumph of Christianity over Islam.

The Pope means well, but can’t see that there is one big group that hates him, us, Jews, and everyone who is not one of them.

I am not sure what you people want him to do? Should he start up a new crusade? He has not the legions for it. Should he ignore the plight of the Christians stuck in these muslim hell holes? What should be do? It's easy to sit and criticize, what do you want him to do?
Francis is not my favorite Pope by along shot, but I just don't get why people are gunning for him every time he does something.

Pope Benedict XVI said dialogue among Christians, Muslims and Jews was vital and urged Christians in the Middle East not to abandon the region. “Inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue is not just an option, but a vital necessity for our times”, he told members of a foundation on inter-religious dialogue. Christians needed to find “the ties that unite” them with the world’s other two great monotheistic religions.

Some of these idiots even speak of Islam as worshiping the same God as Christianity It's not just individuals who are stating this. This comes DIRECTLY from Vatican II. This point alone should make every true Catholic question Vatican II and exactly what "Spirit" was guiding it.

But I would also ask what is the Pope supposed to do about it? He has an Army, should he punch Muslims in the face when he see them? Call for a Crusade? Refuse to talk to anyone who is not Catholic? Not really sure what everyone wants from him.
