Yep....studying the Greek. Hebrew is next.

Nope. No works for salvation. If we follow Christ it's on His terms. I, nor any Christian, state otherwise. If God calls us to do something for Him, like he did with Paul, we are to be obedient to Him.

A person is saved through belief in Christ. When we are saved, now a follower of Christ, we do what He says.

Will a believer always do as they're supposed to? No. The Word is clear on that.

Does this disqualify the gift of salvation He has given to us and the sealing by the Holy Spirit? No.

So the "works" aren't what save; it's the faith in Christ that does. The works/fruit are the evidence of our salvation. We do these because we love God Who has given us the ultimate gift.

There is no work we can do to keep salvation other than believe.

It's not that complicated.

Scripture confuses catholic again.

Actually it is the pseudo Greek scholars that are confused. The original meaning of the word "Scripture" is "writing." Nothing holy or sacred there. But you actually have to understand the original Koine Greek. Good luck with that.

1124 graphḗ – properly, writing. 1124 (graphḗ) is used 51 times in the NT – always of holy Scripture, i.e. the inspired, inerrant writings of the Bible (the 66 books of Scripture, 39 in Hebrew, 27 in Greek). HELPS word-studies

So you’ve got nothing.....<>Perhaps you missed this verse in your exhaustive study of the Bible:
1 Cor 5:9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people;
Ἔγραψα ὑμῖν ἐν τῇ ἐπιστολῇ μὴ συναναμίγνυσθαι πόρνοις,
"Ἔγραψα" literally means "I wrote." This means that Paul had previously written to the Church at Corinth. That "writing/Scripture/grapha" is not included in the Bible. The word γραψα does in fact mean "writing" and is not limited to "Sacred scripture."
I will not hold my breath waiting for you to admit your error.

I do. That’s why I understand the verse in 2 Peter 3 in context.

She’s traded a Xenu, L. Ron Hubbard - based system for a Christ-based system.

Exactly

Scientology has been designated hands-off ever since they were granted tax-exempt status in the 1990s. The IRS had been after them for a billion dollars in back-taxes, that’s why L. Ron Hubbard spent his last days on a ship hitting ports around the world and staying away from countries that would extradite him. After Hubbard died, the guy who took over the “church” aggressively pounded the IRS with lawsuits. With billions of dollars in the coffers, they could afford to hire teams of lawyers that had all day every day free to flood the IRS with bogus lawsuits and court motions. The IRS finally cried uncle. Soon after, the FBI dropped any and all investigations into scientology because the IRS dropped their pursuit of them.

I saw the new movie about scientology and it’s horrifying. It’s not just testimony from former rank-and-file members (which is damning enough), it’s leaders who left as late as 2009 who are speaking out against this evil cult. You heard me, it is EVIL.

The harassment of former members of scientology is terrible. They violate every stalking law in the book. I don’t know why local state police departments and courts don’t get after them but I’m guessing it’s the same fear of endless frivolous lawsuits that backed down the US Government. The good thing is that membership in scientology is seriously dropping and people are leaving in record numbers. I think scientology will end in 20 years when membership numbers dip so low that the leaders disband it, take their billions of dollars, and go live overseas.

No, it’s the fear of endless lawsuits. Scientology got the IRS to back off by just flooding them with frivolous lawsuits. With billions in the coffers, it’s the endless checkbook theory. You can’t sue somebody that has billions and can tie you up in the courts forever. And God help you if they go on offense. That’s the sad reality.

I agree with you there. I’m all good with religion, I’m just done with organized religion because I don’t like what people do with it. I’ve been a member of several churches. I’m turned off by the politics and snooty social-club pecking order that always develops. I’m at a place in my life where I don’t want or need to be justifying my life to people that insist on being way too far into my business.

It’s supposed to be about God, not vanity, arrogance, social standing, and money. I encourage self-study, you don’t need some guy standing in front of a large group interpreting it for you. The pastor always loses me when he tells me: 1) “HE is very angry with you,” and 2) “You owe me money.”

You should see a mormon church service. The 2-3 that I’ve ever been to mention God a number of times that you can count on one hand, Jesus about that many times too, and go on and on for hours about Joseph Smith. They should just call it The Church of Joseph Smith.

Where ever there are people there will be good and bad. Any good thing can be made bad by people who are either mistaken or who have bad intentions. This is a commentary on people, and not on religion itself, and certainly not on faith. There are certainly many churches that have become corrupt, but most churches do good, for their members, for those who join with them, and for others in need.

And we can be the agents of change, even within the church. We cannot simply take from church or religion, we must give to it. As Jesus said, we are the light of the world. We must shine. We must not only have faith, but demonstrate it by loving others. Do you believe in God? If you do, what should that lead you to do? Jesus boiled it down to two commandments: Love God and Love your Neighbor. Easy to say, hard to practice faithfully.

So, we need to be in the world in order to love our neighbors. We must be around them and see their needs.

Going from one hyper controlling religion to another.

Quite unexpected...
