NASHVILLE (BP) -- As March Madness begins, a homosexual advocacy group is pressuring the NCAA to exclude from its membership all schools with federal government approval to "discriminate" against transgender individuals on religious grounds.
Southern Baptist seminary president R. Albert Mohler Jr. predicted the NCAA eventually will succumb to pressure from activists and grant the request to ban schools with a biblically orthodox view of human sexuality from America's most prominent college athletics association.
Campus Pride, a coalition of more than 80 homosexual and transgender advocacy groups wrote a letter to the NCAA March 9 "requesting that the NCAA take action to divest from all religious based campuses who have requested discriminatory Title IX waivers toward LGBTQ youth."
The letter stated 59 "religious-based colleges and universities" have requested exemptions to Title IX of the United States Education Amendments of 1972, a law requiring equal treatment of all people based on multiple criteria, including gender, at schools receiving federal funds. Since 2014, the Department of Education has interpreted that statute to include transgendered identity. The law permits religious institutions to request and receive exemptions.
Campus Pride's letter, which was posted on the group's website, claimed "over half of the campuses with the discriminatory waivers are participating NCAA member institutions."
Among the NCAA schools to receive waivers, several have Southern Baptist ties, including Carson-Newman University, Anderson University, East Texas Baptist University, Louisiana College, Mississippi College, Union University and Liberty University.
The NCAA responded to Campus Pride in a March 15 letter stating that the Department of Education, not the NCAA, approves Title IX exemptions.
Bernard Franklin, NCAA executive vice president of education and community engagement, said the organization provides "member schools and conferences with educational resources, many of which focus on diversity and inclusion."

We need to be trying to wreck the finances of any corporation that supports this stuff. Unfortunately, the media keeps up a counter wind blowing all the time.
I do not want my daughters competing in sports against men. Whether the men are simply male cross-dressers, men taking female hormones, or men who have mutilated their genitalia, people with XY chromosomes are still men and have no business in women’s sports.
If we’re going to do follow the liberal commands to include “transgender” athletes, it’s better to eliminate gendered sports completely and just have golf (male and female from the same tee), football (any women who want to try their luck against a 250 pound linebacker can go for it), soccer, and the rest of the sports. In other words, eliminate 99.5% of women’s athletics. I would hate that, but not as much as I’d hate having women in women’s sports facing mentally ill men.
Why are there separate teams for men and women? because men, statistically speaking, are stronger than women.

I’m a big fan of NCAA shooting and of anyone who can shoot at that level (and I have known several serious shooters at that level and above). I’m fine with true co-ed sports having men compete against women, just not with mentally ill men pretending to be women in sports where muscle mass matters.

Allowing “transgenders” to play as their pretend gender is the death of women’s sports. Women cannot compete against men in any venue where physical strength is a deciding factor. A supposed women’s team that has a “transgendered” man on it has an unfair advantage against a team of all women. In such an environment, it wouldn’t be long before all “women’s” teams were nothing but trannies.
On a related note, does this mean that the old practice of testing participants on women’s Olympics sports teams to prove they are really women is going to be discontinued?
I believe the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has already declared that trannies can compete as whichever sex they prefer.
I know that it’s already happened in competitive fencing — about 5 years ago some 6’4” dude with long hair and fake boobies entered a national competition as a woman epee fencer. He promptly wiped the floor with the real gals. And these were not fencing newbies, either...they were all championship level fencers. They didn’t stand a chance against Gorgeous Georgette.
At first, they squawked, but were shouted down by the very vocal liberal faction. Now they’re stuck with it.

It would be best for schools to back away from it, and at most have intramural sports as part of physical education.
