In the face of an accusation—which is what the cardinals’ document is—a common criminal can remain silent and his silence cannot be used against him in a court of law. But the Catholic Church is not a court of law. It is the Household of the Faith, and the head of that household now has a duty to speak clearly, for once, to the souls who inhabit it, for whose eternal welfare he is directly responsible. If Francis continues to refuse to speak, even when four of his cardinals publicly call upon him before the whole Church to give an answer, his silence will speak for him; the truth he refuses to affirm will convict him, and the bar of history will pass sentence on his disgraceful pontificate, just as it has done with other wayward Popes.

Pope Francis won’t respond to the dubia because he can’t respond. If he answers honestly, his heresy will be plain to see to all the Cardinals and he’d be subject to removal from his position. If he answers in such a way as to uphold previous teaching, then his revolution would be dead. It’s lose-lose for him. Thus, he will NEVER answer the dubia, and his surrogates will declare war on these heroic cardinals. Within the next week or so, expect another classic Bergoglian sermon attacking the “Doctors of Law” who try to use facts and logic to impeded the “New Mercy” and the “God of Surprises.”

Not 100% sure about the church’s position on divorce.

It is beyond dispute the rampant divorce and the consequential breakdown of the family over the last 50 years has been a disaster that has profoundly negative effects on both society and the families of divorced spouses.

Perhaps the solution is to make divorces harder to get but make annulments easier for valid cause to allow people in profoundly bad marriages to rebuild their lives after divorce.

Not being a Catholic, I have no idea what any of this means.

But I do know I don’t particularly care for this Pope and his modernist dogma....................

Chris Ferrara rocks!

I saw malevolence on Bergoglio’s face the moment they opened the double doors. Then he KNELT for a blessing from the people, and I KNEW we had a rabble-rouser on our hands.

Line in the sand, guns lowered and sighted in.

The Trump Effect has reached the Catholic Church.

Pope Hillary, er, Pope Frank, is about to start coughing...

Communists are not so much cunning as they are deceitful.

If he were truly cunning, then he would have foreseen this happenstance.

“Carlo Caffarra, Walter Brandmuller, Joachim Meisner and Raymond Burke” made “the document public.”

Bravo. Good political move, power play and strategy. All four Cardinals are assisted by top canon lawyers. Pope Francis is not assisted by top canon lawyers. Thus, a peaceful and public discussion of canon law will reveal the weakness of Amoris Laetitia. I knew the document was weak when I saw the thirty or so times the term “transorm” was used. Hence, Pope Francis promotes suspicious reasoning and deliberated misguiding of the faithful.

What do you expect from a Jesuit? Next pope should abolish the order.

To recall the eerily apt condemnation of the infamous Pope Honorius I by his own successor, Leo II: “We anathematize… also Honorius, who did not attempt to sanctify this Apostolic Church with the teaching of apostolic tradition, but by profane treachery permitted its purity to be polluted.”

Here we have Francis actually teaching and promoting heresy. Quite different than Honorius.

As a non-Catholic, I ponder the hypocrisy of some of the Catholic Freepers who self righteously call me a heretic for not being a Catholic all the while your own pope is a heretic...
