Pray for divine intercession.
“...and expresses the suspicion of over 100 Synod Fathers that the organisers are manipulating proceedings by confronting them with working papers and procedures designed to push them in a liberal direction.”
Iow, the Church has Jumped the Shark.
worship the devil
lose your church
pretty simple
The pope is the supreme authority. Everyone under him has no power. It is a dictatorship. The current occupant of the chair of Peter should resign.
THAT is a sin against God! Which I don't think will happen.
The Church is already hollowed out. This could start a reform movement which is sorely needed.
Just think, there could be a Catholic Church instead of a political action group.
FYI, it’s customary on FR when posting old articles to put “Flashback” or the year that the article was published in the title of the thread so that people don’t click on it and start reading thinking it’s a new article.
It has already happened:
Vatican welcomes worlds only gay leader and his husband to meet the Pope
Pope Francis meets with, hugs same-sex couple
I am still wondering if the Holy Spirit guides the colloege of cardinals in the selection of the pope.
I have gotten one answer so far.. Most Catholics won’t even respond.
Never saw that in the posting guidelines.
I can’t help it if people can’t read the date of the article.
Just like 500 years ago when they ex-communicated everyone who disagreed with them and continued on their merry way?
Don't be a jerk. That's how articles are posted, whether you've noticed it or not. The moderators will change the title of the article if they catch it. Your comment shows a lack of respect for your readers.
Just think, there could be a CHRISTIAN Church instead of the Roman Catholic church.
Post of the thread...though I doubt it will be understood or heeded.
and smiling inwardly Francis turns away.
*8the thundering traditionalist Cardinal Raymond Burke, who has been excluded from the synod.**
Any specific reasons given by the Pope that Burke is excluded?
<< “I am still wondering if the Holy Spirit guides the college of cardinals in the selection of the pope.” >>
I can say “yes, absolutely”.
The Holy Spirit does not impose, but does propose. He is *with* the Church always. But, the Cardinals have also their will to give consent, to assent, or, to dissent.
You did term, correctly, the Holy Spirit “guides”, in regard to the College of Cardinals, because He does not guarantee the Cardinals College outcome. He proposes, but does not impose, until the Day of Judgement.
If we can all accept that God works in mysterious ways and that His ways are not our ways, and if we do accept such a thing, we must agree that many/most of God’s works are holy mysteries, of which no man is privy, for that is what these truths mean.
The Holy Spirit may will to be silent, but is that not a form of guidance, perhaps a testing?
The Holy Spirit permits human will to choose either right or wrong, good or evil. He allows for errors. Man is a sinner, thus God provides remedies.
In the case of Jorg, we all seem to believe time is speeding— that time is short, and that present times are evil, as if Satan has been allowed to prowl the earth and, finally, the Church as Revelation reveals. Others before us have doubtless felt the same in their day, but never before has the Church been so at odds within, as today.
Jorg is a suffering and God permitted this suffering. It is a test certainly for the faithful, and seems as if it is a separation of the sheep from the goats in real time.
The condition of the Church is always the condition of the world, whether it’s seen or unseen, thus our Lord wondered if there would be left on earth any faithful. I pray we repent and mend our ways, for the Church belongs to the Lord.
Are you a moderator?
As a lifelong Catholic who left the Church due to Francis, Francis made it obvious the Church stands for nothing and can be evil. Funny world we now live in.
To be fair, ebb mentioned it was “dated” in his first post.
