Since your version of Catholicism comes straight out of a comic book, I really don’t need to respond.
In this article, Bergoglio comes fully out of the closet, on a lot of issues. But most significantly, on abortion.
The Catholic Church teaches, of course, that the state has the duty to proscribe and punish abortion.
Bergoglio, in this article, says that those who seek to make abortion illegal are doing so because they cling to a dream of “a theocratic society.”
This is PRECISELY what Nancy Pelosi, Geraldine Ferraro, Cecile Richards, Chuck Schumer, and every other pro-abort has been saying for fifty years: pro-lifers are seeking to establish a theocracy.
Since your version of Protestantism comes right out of the deranged minds of the Catholics of the 1600s, what’s your beef?
Happily condemn all Protestants to hell, and you’re complaining that I argue back against that point.
Francis is the "reformer". He's a Wannabe Destroyer -- a False Prophet.
Catholics who oppose Francis are inspired by true reformers -- our Counter-Reformation saints, such as St. Teresa, St. John of the Cross, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Francis de Sales, et al. - great saints who helped to inspire the Catholic Revival. Francis' wretched behavior is as repulsive to many Protestants as it is to faithful Catholics. He's like a fat, power-hungry little bolshevik, with a hand-picked "politburo" comprised of all manner of heathens who support what Pope JPII termed, "the Culture of Death". Fortunately, we know that "where sin abounded, grace did more abound" (Rom 5:20), so his evil efforts are ultimately in vain.
Isn’t that what Boniface VIII claimed in Unam Sanctam?
>>the Church of the Council of Trent and today’s orthodox Catholics are supporting it.<<
At least your honest and calling it the Church of the Council Tent.
For we know we can’t find the Trent church in the NT or even the Council of Orange.
>But that logical necessity has not
>influenced most Catholics, anyway.
“Now that the voting is over, however, preliminary results indicate Trump decisively won a majority of those self-identifying as Catholics, by 52 to 45 percent.
In any case, the Catholics on FR are pioneers in this line of thinking, so I don’t think it productive to scold them for this.
Do a little more reading. The church of Trent is the same church as that of the NT and the first centuries of the faith. What cannot be found in the NT is the 16th century church of Martin Luther and "faith alone."
I will consider your answer “is not!”
I didn’t say The Catholic vote never went for a Republican. What I said was that most Catholics do not care about abortion.
The majority of Catholic voters went for Obama and Bill Clinton. If Catholics voted as the Church’s teaching requires, pro-abortion candidates would get no Catholic votes.
It was a joke.
Get a grip.
“The majority of Catholic voters went for Obama and Bill Clinton.”
That was back when people would think you were crazy for suggesting that the LSM were biased. More people were more deceived; fewer people were aware of fake news.
I don’t think Catholics were worse than the rest of the population in that regard.
“If Catholics voted as the Churchs teaching requires, pro-abortion candidates would get no Catholic votes.”
True. Many Catholics are poorly catechized, because that is the way Satan wants it.
