Francis Is "Misleading His Flock"
Phil Lawler, the editor of Catholic World News, has published a book on Francis Papacy entitled Lost Shepherd. How Pope Francis is Misleading His Flock.
Lawler writes that the former Buenos Aires cardinal was known for using low language and of being more denouncing than encouraging. As a pope, Francis selects his staff on the basis of personal loyalty rather than theological acumen or pastoral performance, writes Lawler.
According to Lawler, Francis attempts to overthrow the Catholic teaching on marriage by being deliberately secretive about this goal.
Lawler shows that a Francis revival exists only in the media. In 2013 about 40,000 people attended his weekly audiences in St Peters Square, now they are fewer than 15,000. He points out that the worldwide number of seminarians was increasing until 2012 and is declining since Bergoglio was elected pope.

Imho, Francis might have succeeded in making some changes had he done so in a straight- forward, honest manner (including some justifications for what he wanted). But, the way hes operated does NOT engender trust or confidence. I cant rhink of a single Catholic who respects him now, alas. The flock has gone bye- bye

I have always wondered this. Why are the faithful referred to as a flock? I felt insulted by this allusion and wondered where and why it originated. Anybody?

And a future pope will have to clean up this mess , alas. But Im confident most of it can be corrected

He has subverted something that has been around for many years. He has placed Christianity on the same level as *slam. He doesn’t seem to think that Christianity is better than *slam.
Time for him to become an ex-pope.

Many references in the New Testament. John 10:16 is clear, and the Pope claims to be the literal “Vicar of Christ”.

The Church is still here. We have been well-prepared by JPII and Benedict for this fight.
When John Podesta played around with the idea of a Catholic Spring, he thought that the people in the Church were a bunch of dummies who wouldn't know what hit them like after Vatican II.
But we are much wiser now. And we can smell a pied piper. We can't be hoodwinked into just accepting something because some lib tells us it is good for us.
We know the Truth and it will set us free.

Why are the faithful referred to as a flock? I felt insulted by this allusion and wondered where and why it originated. Our Lord Jesus Christ called Himself the Good Shepherd, the shepherd who knows His flock and whose flock knows Him.
Still feeling insulted?

A Shepherd over his flock. Reference 23 Psalm.
Lamb of God. Blood of the lamb.
Historically the Old Testament accounts for the sacrifice of the lamb, as a penitential act by the people of God. The lamb and its blood is represented as a forerunner of Jesus, and his body and blood, sacrificed as for our redemption.
Maybe helps but only a grain of the whole story.

The Bible is filled with references to Christ being a shepherd and His people being the flock.
