Why not sell the Vaticans great works of art that are not even on display? They are doing no one any good in storage.

And by the time he has sold all the church possessions, the churches will be bare and the poor will still be there... and in larger numbers.

An actual anti-Pope. Scary. Biblical verse that may be relevant:
Links to an NIV version. Know some of you prefer other translations, but most of the ones Ive read say essentially the same thing.
Quote: John 12:3-6 New International Version (NIV) 3 Then Mary took about a pint[a] of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. 4 But one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, who was later to betray him, objected, 5 Why wasnt this perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was worth a years wages.[b] 6 He did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief; as keeper of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it.
Yes, I am saying Francis is following in the lines of Judas as any anti-Pope would.
Again, scary.
/a Catholic, but not a happy one - all that really matters though is faith in Christ and His sacrifice for us

The Church has been doing it for years.
The parish school that I graduated from, the one my parents and the parents of my classmates built and that my fellow parishioners and I helped maintain was sold years ago...just like so many other parish and high schools in NYC.
The Bishops and the Cardinal still live in splendor though, while the faithful are relentlessly badgered to help the “poor”.

HA! “The Camp of the Saints” predicted this..... on the same page that it also predicted U2 and Bono (without naming them, just their actions) ... four years before the band even formed.
All to ‘help’ third-worlders who will always hate Catholics anyway.
