If true, this is a disaster for the United States. Pope Francis has managed to select an archbishop for the political capital of the world who is to the left of even Donald Cardinal Wuerl.

It’s indicative of the dire straits we’re in when much of the reaction has been along the lines of “Sure, he’s bad, but Nighty Night Baby Tobin or Bobby McElroy would’ve been worse.”
I’ve seen private organizations which promote leadership as repugnant to the most members as it can. The purpose is to leave all the property to a few individuals who liquidate the assets to themselves.
Faithful Catholics have to understand when all this is over, the Church will be divested of all those beautiful properties. Only then will we be free of these people. In the meantime quit giving them money (a large percentage of Sunday offerings goes to these Bishops). There are other ways to give.
Frankie needs a placeholder for when the Omega Point is reached in the US.
My geographic parish (Novus Ordo) is taxed about 25% by the diocese. FWIW.
Chill. (or rather Rorate should chill). He’s 71 and change. He won’t have the energy to do much, and the see should open up when or shortly after things shift in Rome.
Pray that that shift goes well.
Up in Ontario, we just received a new archbishop in the primatial see yesterday, and he’s only 57. I’m still working through the appointment because until 6 AM yesterday he was my ordinary and I didn’t want to loose him, and didn’t think he’d be going anywhere in the present climate.
Not everything is going as bad as imaginable.
We go through our envelopes and only give to our local parish and things like St. Vincent de Paul and local pro-life stuff.
All your non-parish funding goes through the USCCB who doles it all out to the commie and pro-abort friends.
(I don't know about the bishop's funding which stays in your diocese.)
Here is the list of organizations that USCCB gives money to:
Catholic Campaign for Human Development
Catholic Communication Campaign
Catholic Home Missions Appeal
Catholic Relief Services Collection
Church in Central and Eastern Europe
Church in Latin America
Peters Pence
Solidarity Fund for Africa
Retirement Fund for Religious
Migration and Refugee Services
People of Life
The current director of the USCCB was Wendy Davis's campaign chairman, yeah THAT Wendy Davis.
The last time I checked it was 23% here. Also I once belonged to a rural parish that had a savings account which was confiscated by the Bishop (Wuerl at that time.) Didn’t ask, just took. Too many people don’t know how much money they are giving to these corrupt Bishops.
I assume you mean "Abortion Barbie"? Her flunkies shouldn't be flunkies in Catholic organizations.
Plenty of Catholic organizatins that do good work and aren’t beholden to the local Diocese.
What ever happened to Wendy?
She was a superhero of the left for a few months.
Will she be running for POTUS in 2020?
For us, it’s a mission group, school and orphanage. It’s sad not to trust the Bishop but I just don’t.
What is sad is what they have done to Peter's Pence. That was King Alfred the Great's lasting legacy as he tried to involve those who could give to help out the mission of the Church in England.
There is a rumor floating around that Frankie gave some of that to Hillary before she lost the election. Which is illegal. (From "Dictator Pope")
Bergolio let Wuerl hang on over three years after Wuerl turned in his resignation at 75.
Don’t hold you breath.
LOL! Id forgotten all about the Omega Point!
How many children does your parish have that are attending other Catholic Schools other than your own?
That makes up a large amount of what you call “tax.”
Do you have Chaput? I would think he would be trustworthy.
Why not? It's already a freak show of nuts, sluts, commies, looneys, faggots, and idiots.
