Catholic Caucus: TFP, Tradition Family & Property - America Needs Fatima, let's chat

I just wanted to get some info. on this group and its directors: Robert Ritchie and John Horvat II. I've been getting mail from them for about 20 years. I don't know how they can afford to give out free books and rosaries, etc. and how they afford the big banners for their 20,000 rosary rallies on the 2nd Saturday of October.

I remember reading some negative comments on the FR many years ago stating that they recruit boys for their school and they don't wind up going into the seminary.

I see them at the March for Life every year and don't understand their tactics by having those big flags and playing band music. I guess they are promoting their organization.

I do like some of their campaigns and the fact that they can organize 20,000 rosaries every year.

Every once in a while, I meet someone who said that they were told to stay away from this group and don't get involved with any of their activities. What do you think?

I’ve known some TFP folk. Having seen their work and appeals and spirituality, they love our lady and seek to be faithful Catholics.

However they have yet to make the conversion to the position that the seat of Peter is currently unoccupied. Church teaching has it that a public heretic cannot be pope. Yet it is heretics and apostates that brought to the world the replacement church manufactured at the so-called Vatican II council where specific heresies were enshrined and the Mass was gutted and replaced by a protestant-Masonic man-centered meal-centered ceremony.

The TFP appear to love and attempt to preserve tradition. They dress modestly and pray much. They may prefer the Latin if I recall. However they still promote the lie that John XXIII thru Francis are true popes even thought they taught and teach heresy.

I have to be brief because I am running late.

TFP is a mixed bag. Yes, they have some excellent materials and do some good things, but the organization also has some cult like tendencies and I often think they should not be taking in teenage boys. I think they should all have to be 18, all adults, before getting involved.

I do not know the two leaders you mentioned but I know the family of one of them. Ideological arguments and factions have split families and strained others.

They make their money through constant fundraising. CONSTANT FUND RAISING. Their members do not work - except at TFP enterprises. It was often said in the 90s that America Needs Fatima was really a TFP organization and they constantly fundraise.

I don’t like them, and at the time I was receiving mail from them, they seemed to be against the Pope. My priest said that it was not good when they distance themselves from the Pope, and I think Pope John Paul is one of the popes they did not agree with.
