The Vatican Defends Biden on Communion

Et tu, Brute?

This pontificate is rightly seen as a repudiation of the restorationist priorities of Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI. Perhaps nowhere is this clearer than on the matter of long-neglected canon law. Discussions about it had intensified under those two previous pontificates. It appeared, for example, that the Church, after many years of laxity, was on the cusp of finally applying canon law to pro-abortion Catholic politicians. Pope Benedict XVI, who was on record favoring a denial of Communion to them, spoke of the “pseudo-pastoral” claims made by progressive churchmen that had rendered canon law impotent. In retrospect, those comments read like a warning about his successor’s pontificate, which has been defined by that pseudo-pastoralism.

In its name, Pope Francis has relaxed sacramental discipline for the divorced-and-remarried. He often casts canon law in contrast to “mercy,” a distortion his predecessors called false mercy and said misrepresented canon law’s purpose. Canon law is not contrary to true mercy but a safeguard of it, said Pope Benedict XVI. “It is necessary to note the widespread and deeply rooted, though not always evident, tendency to place justice and charity in opposition to one another, as if the two were mutually exclusive,” he said in 2011. In other words, canon law exists for the salvation of souls. Hence, the Church cannot fulfill her mission by setting it aside. The consequences of doing so, among others, are sacrilege and scandal.

The self-consciously “pastoral” Catholicism of Pope Francis is a revival of the very sophistries his predecessor had condemned. It shouldn’t surprise anyone, therefore, that his Vatican has signaled to Joe Biden, despite presiding over the most pro-abortion administration ever, that he has nothing to fear from the Church.

I remember when “Is the Pope Catholic?” was sarcasm.

The Jesuit has no compassion for the millions of children snuffed out by men like Biden who look the other way while they are being torn apart by doctors and women who do not want to be inconvienced. The Pope has the power to excommunicate Biden but will not even ban him from receiving communion. If Pope Francis would excommunicate him, the effect on the world would be devistating to the abortionists. He will not. He does not have the guts.

Not to be too pedantic, but refusing communion is excommunication (hence the name).

We know Biden, Pelosi, et al are “latae sententae” excommunicated. Is it possible Bergoglio may also be for supporting “pro-choice” politicians and leaders?

he has nothing to fear from the Church"...he has nothing to fear from the Church...

It ain't the Church Joe needs to fear, but rather Almighty God.

It’s possible that Bergoglio, himself, is excommunicated for several reasons, one being his cooperation with the St Gallen mafia in interfering with the last papal conclave.

This is the man who kissed the imam on the lips. Who showed his intense hatred for Trump (google for the pictures) during a state visit. Who showed his love for obammy. He loves biden because biden is a willing puppet through which the USA, which biden and the pope hate, will be transformed into a non-White communist “paradise” in which all of Whitey’s hard-earned money will be transferred to non-Whitey, who will hate Whitey in return.

Hmm, interesting. Excommunication only occurs under very specific conditions. I don’t think conspiring to get yourself elected pope (if that’s even true) is one of them.

Just fyi:

Catholics are automatically excommunicated for committing these offenses:

Procuring of abortion

Apostasy: The total rejection of the Christian faith.

Heresy: The obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth, which must be believed with divine and Catholic faith.

Schism: The rejection of the authority and jurisdiction of the pope as head of the Church.

Desecration of sacred species (Holy Communion)

From Wiki:

In Latin Catholic canon law, excommunication is a rarely applied censure and thus a “medicinal penalty” intended to invite the person to change behaviour or attitude, repent, and return to full communion. It is not an “expiatory penalty” designed to make satisfaction for the wrong done, much less a “vindictive penalty” designed solely to punish: “excommunication, which is the gravest penalty of all and the most frequent, is always medicinal”, and is “not at all vindictive”.

Just for your information:

Rules of the papal conclave, explained

The cardinals say a communal oath and then an individual oath to uphold the rules. The punishment for making “any form of pact, agreement, promise or other commitment of any kind” is immediate excommunication.

So the strongest Catholics in my circles are very aware of the “issues” with the Church/Vatican and they stay for the Eucharist.

How is that not a slap in their face for how they are living including protesting in front of P.P. and Xi-O'Biden gets indulgences?

Now would be a good time for Pope Benedict XVI to speak up.
