Absolutely true. A mystery for eternity. He was in the very presence of God. What possessed him, to think he could take over for God?

Excellent commentary. In fact, Satan was created by God as a tool for a specific mission - for the purpose of giving all of us free will, I believe. Without the offer of a choice, and no free will, God would have created a species of mindless robots. Unfortunately, too many of us choose poorly, and do not seek the Spirit of God, which is offered freely.
The scary thing is to blank out all images you think you have of God and ask him instead, to form his real image. via his son Jesus Christ, inside of you...and no peaking unless he wants you to see that image inside of you! What we will and do see of Christ comes from his workings in others who have also made the same request of God!
Scary...but necessary. No idols even mental ones! You’ll know he’s there.
