The true successors to the apostles are the people who believe, teach, and live by the teachings of the apostles (Scripture).
Stops short of calling it a “sacrament”. My guess is that’s scheduled for later.
The Communist Hack with the pointed hat, living in splendor, opulence, safety, and great health care promotes blessings for deviants, while people around the world starve or are murdered for what they pray to.
Back in the day, there was Reagan, Thatcher and Pope John Paul II.
Today there’s Shiites-his-Pants, Rishi, and Bergoglio.
It’s certainly is a different world.
Well, I have never been a fan of organized religion. It seems that they are more prone to falling away from the true doctrine as the years go by. And as a non-denomination Christian, over the years (decades), I have become more and more convinced that that is the best way to be.
The institutional relationship of the Old covenant was changed(curtain torn, etcJ). But men LIKE the institutional relationship, why is that?
.
“norms” and “homosexual” are opposites.
“Maybe it’s time to ditch the “apostolic succession” bit.”
St. Malachi prophecies can be interpreted that the AS chain ended with the last pope.
This pope seems to get his kicks from shocking faithful Catholics, actually all good Christians. And at Christmastime no less!
Lord, deliver us quickly from this scourge! Have mercy!
Indeed, the Church will live well beyond this Pope. The life of the Church will be determined by God, not by people.
I’m definitely missing Pope Benedict XVI
“The institutional relationship of the Old covenant was changed(curtain torn, etcJ). But men LIKE the institutional relationship, why is that?”
Uhhh.... at the risk of sounding judgmental... it could be because they like going to places (church) where there are lots of vulnerable women that might be hoping to meet a man. Then again, I could just be thinking of a particular womanizing stepson of mine...lol.
But seriously, I ‘get’ the need of some folks for community and meeting with like-minded (fellow Christians) in worship. I have just never felt that need, personally. What I have seen and experienced from a few such experiences... has actually opened my eyes to the hypocrisy of some that are “church-goers”. Those few, unfortunately, have tended to sour the ‘entire barrel’ in my mind.
I have a neighbor that never misses church, for instance. He goes without his wife along every Sunday. This guy cheated on his wife, a friend of mine, with a woman that lived across the street from them previously. It is what it is. We are all sinners and have sinned. I just don’t want to put myself in a position where I have to “observe” the hypocrisy.
if he also going to start blessing Satanic unions?
I never was a Joel Osteen fan although I kind of liked his dad.
“I think referring to “organized religion” needs to be modified. There is organization required in any earthly human endeavor. But I get your point. We can organize beyond the mission. The tools become more important that the Object.

Point taken.
I never watched Osteen’s dad, but I did like him. I know better now. I equate him to the same demonic Kenneth Copeland false prophets NAR cult now. All are leading people astray, IMO.
I read the article you linked. I still see problems. The blessings are not for an individual but for a couple (the way I read it). This sets up the very thing it says to avoid: confusion. Overall it seems to be making a distinction without a difference. Further, I think we all know there are more than a few priests who will take this way beyond its intent. Surely the Pope knows this, too, which makes the statement reckless.
Not a fan of this Pope but this appears to be a case of outrage propaganda. It make clear what the Church sees as marriage. It also acknowledges those who understand their fallen nature, including gay couples, can seek to be blessed as a way to become closer to and right with God. This is basic Christian faith, bless those sinners seeking God, which is different from Christian fetishism that is practiced by too many “pastors” in too many “churches” which places condemnation over redemption. Often for profit.
I am sure there will be some mind bending claim that “This is what has always been done!”
Violates scripture and is null ab initio.
HERETIC!
It's the ONE, TRUE CHURCH, FOUNDED BY JESUS GIVING THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM TO THE APOSTLES!
