My argument was about the nature of Christ before and after his incarnation. He can not have been made out of created material BEFORE his incarnation for the simple fact that he existed before there was created matter.

Let me start over. You said the the resurrected Christ could not have a body made of matter, since then he would not be God. Correct?

What kind of body did Christ have after he was born and before he died?

I would say that he had a regular human body, made of created matter.

Yet, He was God. Which means that God can indeed have a body made of matter and remain God. Which invalidates your argument.

What am I missing? Why do the rules change for a resurrected body?

I don't really know. Probably. How do you see things? I just picture a state of complete bliss, baskng in the glory of God.

I'm not sure how that works. Maybe some people are more responsive to bliss, or their bliss would be objectively "better." Maybe one's bliss is beer and steak while another's is lobster and wine?

Recently, this thread has dealt with those who won’t accept Jesus Christ as the begotten Son of God, those who condemn you for not going back under the law, and most here have been patient and understanding with them, but Doug differs in a small mater, the make up of Christ body after His resurrection, and everyone goes ballistic.

I haven't condemned anyone. I don't recall seeing any posts where malakhi has condemned anyone. I don't recall seeing 1 spark condemn anyone. I don't even remember any post from Invincibly Ignorant that condemned anyone.

HOWEVER, I do recall OTHERS condemning people.......

You know less about "Protestant Christianity" than the average "Catholic" knows about "Catholicism".

That may be. But the one sacrifice occurred 2000 years ago, right? If atonement can be 2000 years in the past -- and then made present, why can't forgiveness be 10 years in the past -- and then made present?

This all for one, one time forgiveness doesn't fit the human pattern, as far as I can tell.

You could say the same for Jesus's "once for all time" atoning sacrifice. Still, the church teaches that the re-presentation of this sacrifice in the eucharist is not a "sacrificing again", but instead is a "making present" of the "once for all time" sacrifice.

Knowing that I was "already forgiven" I might be tempted to go ahead and sin.

So could knowing that your sins are already atoned for.

Whereas knowing that I would need to repent again, might change my mind.

In either scenario, you would need to repent (return to the right path) again.

Because feelings can deceive you. Your assureance of salvation comes from knowing what God says in His word and trusting it.

I know when I am not as close to God as I could/should be, and I do feel bad, but I KNOW I am not close because of what God says not because of what I feel.

Think about that story Footsteps in the Sand. It is kind of right on track. The person did not feel close when he was going thru the bad times, but in reality that was when God was closest. I believe there is a good point to that. When we "feel" alone, we should trust that God will be there for us.
