No I say that as Gods elect we have a free will that freely chooses God because He is our desire
You say you lost your free will and are now nailed to a door so you can not do what you would really choose to do
That is a goat talking ...Ya need a pen...
Eternal Security based on Union with Christ and Perservence of the Saints are very different approaches that arrive at the same conclusion.
Amen!
Ev Christ!
Maranatha!
m
(Romans 10:17)
If you have no ability to say no it is not a choice!
God has made the 'choice' for you.
If someone cannot say yes because God has not chosen him it is not a choice by that individual but by God.
The only one who has any choice in Calvinism is God, so stop playing Jesuit word games.
You say you lost your free will and are now nailed to a door so you can not do what you would really choose to do That is a goat talking ...Ya need a pen...
I gave up my 'free will' when I got married, and it was a freedom that I happily and permanently have given up
but what things were gain, those things I counted loss for Christ (Phil.3:7)
What I find interesting is that the 'aul' example was given to support the notion of eternal security, and it is you who having the most problems with it!
That shows how different the Biblical view of eternal security and the Calvinistic view of 'Perserverence' really are.
So HE chooses to make you a bond slave...
I believe that I was formerly a slave to sin. I had NO free will
God with His grace reconstructed my will to make it truly free...that will chooses Christ, that will desires God. And it is His grace that preserves that desire....
You are the robot
That is not what the passage says now is it? It says that the servant freely chooses to become a permenant servant by having his ear pierced.
The choice is his (see a real choice)
I believe that I was formerly a slave to sin. I had NO free will
You had the ability to make a choice for or against the Gospel, that was the extent of your 'free will'
No Arminian/Methodist would say anything else.
God with His grace reconstructed my will to make it truly free...that will chooses Christ, that will desires God. And it is His grace that preserves that desire....
And when you sin, where does that desire come from? (Rom.6:16)
You are the robot
A robot has no choice, he is programed, that is the position you are defending.
The latter part is the incorrect part. I believe the bondservant of Christ freely surrenders all to Jesus. Nothing is removed; something is given. We give him our everything. We love him with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength.
But he takes your choice..the most important thing in all creation...the one thing that is more powerful than He is...He must be very insecure...Is that "fair"?
1Jo 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
