No, this man may be the best guy in the neighborhood, but the Presidency of the United States of America MEANS SOMETHING TO ME. NO, he does NOT deserve it.
And I really liked the guy before this, too!
My problem with him is not the affair..big deal. I have a real problem with him leaving the state for five days. As President is he going to get the itch to go to South America for a week and not tell anyone. If he could ensure that this was a one time lapse than perhaps he might get my support again...I just have a real issue with Unauthorized Absenses...just ask my Sailors. lol.
I knew those two set him up, Knotts was the one who called the paper and said he was missing.

I seriously question his intelligence and judgement..... not for the affair, but for openly e-mailing about it. As I type here on FR, I am aware someone might know it’s me... so I’m not going to say something stupid. How dumb could Sanford be?

Would I support him over the False Messiah and his counterpart twin in the GOP, Slick Willard ? Of course, but he’s still too damaged now to seriously pursue the office and hope to win (as a Republican, but we’re always judged by different standards... though at least we actually possess standards). I do support him to complete his term as Governor, however, since Andre Bauer is far too risky and RINOish for us to permit ascend to the top job.

Won’t happen. Same with Newton Gingrich. They had their chances, and neither would make good candidates against Obama. It’s a loss of credibility among the people whose support they would be required to have.
Exactly. It wasn’t but a few weeks ago that Bill Bennett and company were pooh-poohing Palin over Willow and then saying we need to here from heavy-weights like Sanford.
Obviously, Bennett didn’t know about Sanford’s indiscretions. But those are the sorts of things that, in Bill’s view, warrant dismissal. And he sounded pretty sure that Sanford was the sort of rock-solid condidate that he knew all about, inside and out. Wrong.
Palin, warts and all, is head-and-shoulders above these knuckleheads that babble nonsense or plant both feet squarely in it as soon as someone puts the notion of the Presidency in their heads.

But i’ve been married for 22 years and have managed not to cheat. Its a choice. A choice not to betray someone who puts their trust in you.
If you will do that to your spouse, what will you do to your constituants?
Its very simple....if you CHOOSE to represent the american people and make your living on the taxpayers dime then please keep your sicko , perverted, corrupt lifestyles at bay for the extent of that service. thats all i ask....if your having trouble with that, then quit the job and look for a position in the private sector.

Well he won’t have mine. Not only is he an adulterer which repelled me from Clinton, the man abandoned his office to fly out of the country to conduct this affair. Having his staff lie to constituents, the press, and anyone who sought answers where he was.
I wish him well in whatever endeavor he chooses after he puts politics behind him.
The list of disappointing Republicans is so long that it could start with Bennett (Bill and Senator UT Bob both for that matter), but I bet there’s competiong from Aa to Ba.
