I'll bet 'Mr. Socko' is a Kerry supporter too.

Last I remember, they changed "Bad Ass Billy Gunn" to "The one" and then he was gone. HHH teamed with Ric Flair and a few others for "Evolution". I'd like to see DX make a comeback.

WWF/E was at its best when it was competing with WCW. Better story lines, more charisma, and a "what's gonna happen next" type of thing - either in the program or between the two promotions.

My favorite feud of all time has to be Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Second the motion. Say what you want about the WCW, it stole a lot of McMahon's talent and Eric Bischoff is a creative genius. The Sting story-line was wonderful, and the New World Order was a months-long continuing hoot. I think I still have one of their t-shirts. "When you're NWO, you're NWO FOR LIFE!"

Then there was the time Diesel and Razor Ramon defected and Vince put up these two clowns who didn't look anything like them under their old ring names. Painfully funny.

The biggest creative genius ever in wrestling was Paul Heyman a/k/a "Paul E. Dangerously" during the years 1996-1998 (I think that's the right 3 year span) when he ran the now defunct ECW. The whole wrestling resurgence (that likely stopped about 3 years ago) can be traced back to what Paul E. did in ECW.

You had the best storylines (Raven v. Tommy Dreamer - Paul E. made you wait 2 years for the payoff), best wrestling (all the cruiserweights, Malenko, Tazz, Benoit), and some of the most insane performers you'd ever want to see (Sabu, Terry Funk, RVD, Mike Awesome, Tajiri)

That time in place in wrestling history will never be recreated. While the WWF and WCW were pushing cartoon characters, ECW was about 2 years ahead of the curve. Hell, Steve Austin started his "Stone Cold" persona in ECW, which is the character that is credited with wrestling resurgence in the late 90's.

Too bad Paul E. didn't know how to run a business and had all his talent stolen.

--Fully aware of the 2000 nonsense, Bret "The Hitman" Hart takes matters into his own hands and forces John F. Kerry to concede the 2004 election on November 3rd.

Nice pic. I was wondering why Barry Bonds was holding an Iranian flag, until I noticed the guy holding the flag is much too small to have been doing the 'roids Bonds has done. My mistake. Carry on.

I remember when Hulk Hogan actually body slammed King Kong Bundy. Also, remember George "The Animal" Steele and the Road Warriors? I'm mean, I didn't watch it or anything...umm, I just had it on as background noise while I did my homework...

Vince McMahon has never been shy to use political and world events and hatred around the world for the U.S. as means to promote angles. During the first Gulf War in 1991, they had Sgt. Slaughter turn heel by saying he was supporting Saddam Huissan and Iraq. And of course now they have La Resistance waving French Flags in the ring and bad mouthing America every week. And one of the most famous, who can forget back in the mid 1980's during the peak of the cold war, you had the Iron Shiek and Nikolai Volkoff. The Iron Shiek was an Iranian wrestler coming down to the wring every week and waving an Iranian flag and screaming about how great the Iotola was. And Volkoff always POed whatever arena he was in by singing the Soviet national anthem before his matches.

Those were the days. B-) One of my co-workers at a job I was at, he went to the Civil Arena to see the Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff wrestle and after Nikolai sung the anthem of the USSR, my co-worker told me the story where he took his coke, lobbed it at the ring and hit the Iron Sheik in the head. He was tossed out of the Civil Arena for that. B-) It must have been around 1984 or 1985.

I also remember King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd too.

I saw Shiek and Volkoff in the mid 80s. When they sang the Soviet anthem, the crowd tossed thousands of wrappers at them & nothing happened. When Hulk Hogan started flexing after his match I threw one hotdog wrapper at him and got tossed out of the arena.

I always hated the good guys.
