'EC' puts babies on potty even before they can sit up

When our first babies were 9 months old, a friend said that she was potty training her son. Since he wasn't even walking yet, I asked, "Don't you mean you're potty training yourself?" She was so proud of 'his' accomplishments, though, what could I say? We moved not too long after that, so I have no idea if the kid stayed trained or not.

I was never that hung up on it. The kids potty trained when they got tired of walking around in wet diapers. Usually it didn't last past the age of 3, and I wasn't a wreck trying to make sure they got to the bathroom on time. I did enjoy having the 'pull ups' for the last two when they were easing into potty training because they could do it themselves, but didn't have to worry about accidents messing up their clothes.

Au contraire! My husband (who had all brothers) is constantly amazed by our "dainty" (not!) girls. One is a champion belcher, and her twin, well, let's just say her nickname is "Bean"!

The American Academy of Pediatrics tells parents that children younger than 12 months have no control over bladder and bowel movements and little control six months after that.

The Russians routinely potty train at 6 months. I wonder what else these doctors are wrong about.
