So far the only leader who wasn't afraid to see it as a Crusade was Bush. Maybe there are some others but I've only heard Bush use the word. I don't really mind those who got scared and went to go hide, we're better off without all of those.

Methinks you make sense. Scaremongering is fun, and good for conversations like these -- in the theoretical sense.

(Even so, it does make sense as well to tighten down the borders and ports of entry and to deport illegals from suspect middle-eastern countries. Those are reasonable approaches regardless of the true severity of the situation.)

But eventually, scaremongering can become destructive -- see the ridiculous level the anthrax scare has gotten to, with people who don't need to take antibiotics taking them and hording them.

If there truly were as many terrorists and cells and supporters as this report claims, they would already have the ability to section off a chunk of our territory as a beach-head! I doubt that all they'd be able to do is send a handful of letters with anthrax to a few high-profile targets. That's the tactic of a relatively few remaining "disrupters" on the run.

Do we need another 9/11 before our politically correct government gets the message that there are umpteen thousands of mentally deranged Muslim terrorists roaming our streets with the single-minded pursuit of killing as many Americans as they can? This aledgedly occurred in Marple Pa, I was told a group of Egyptians that own a resturant, were observed by a waitress, in their employ exchanging "High Fives" as the planes hit the WTC, during this tragedy, can this be confirmed or expounded on by anyone from the "Marple Pa" area?

When it's our lives at risk, they didn't choose to do anything about it, now they are hiding but still not doing anything about it. A Former FBI agent in Congressional testimony, aired on CSPAN recently, showed a video of over 1,000 militant Muslims at a meeting in Kansas City, and this was over three years ago I believe. A lot of them had guns in hand at the meeting.

But mostly I'm more convinced that they DO prefer to kill the infidels. . . . there's a cleanse the land mentality. They would not really trust conversions to be authentic. And they would have the infidels either DEAD or converted to the bone marrow. I don't think they believe decadent Americans CAN be authentically converted.

I believe our mentality and soft experience prevents many people from believing in the deadliness of OBL et al's philosophy/religion.

It surprises me that anyone viewing the WTC videos could really doubt that OBL wants masses of Americans DEAD as in very DEAD.

On CNN now are chantings of "DEATH TO AMERICA," "DEATH TO AMERICA."

I'm curious if you've ever been around intense hatred in your life? Anger of any deep, lasting intensity is murderous. That's simply a fact. Angry people who are honest confirm it in droves. It also happens to be a Scripture.

But one need only tune in to the eyes and tones, as well as the body language of many shouting--or not shouting but asserting that the proper thing is--DEATH TO AMERICA(NS)

Ben Laden would NOT be satisfied with replacing all American leaders with Muslims. Saudi Arabia has all Muslim leadership. It's not enough. He wants them dead, too.

I guess I'm skeptical that you understand the depth, breadth and intensity of this man's hostility--and that of his followers--and to some degree, of most any Muslim who wants to consider himself authentically and strongly Muslim. . . it was the FOUNDER of their religion who put things in such terms. If they believe in it, they believe in that, too.

They may not practice all of their religion well. . . . but if they imagine someone doing so, they can easily imagine someone carrying it to such lengths--and feeling that doing so is proper, righteous, loftier in belief and actions than they routinely are. . . and in such moments of reflection, it would be rather easy to send a check to aid such a more "righteous," more "intense" Muslim brother. They may not want to get THEIR hands dirty or bloody. But they can feel MORE righteous funding someone else doing it.

Death is not an idle word nor an idle action in such quarters. It is a ticket to GREATER RIGHTEOUSNESS and a BETTER HEAVENLY payoff.

Their writings and their history attest to this in spades.

Why does any American have any motivation to soften that? That's a curiosity to this shrink. . . what's the basis for it?

Is the horror to horrible. We have to soften it to sleep at nights?

Is our egalitarianism at risk if we don't? And if that's at risk, are a long list of other beliefs suddenly suspect--is THAT the threatening thing?

One point mentioned in a story was ,...that of the Hijackers involved on 9-11-01, only the pilots had put their affairs per se in order indicating that of the 3 to 5 on each aircraft only one or two knew they were "not gonna see the sun set again".

Even within each cell secrets are kept so Louis Beams concept of leaderless resistance is IMHO a key part of their success to date. Bader Minehoff, Brigata Rosa, Shining Path etc have all used it to a point then abandoned the cell concept . Each and everytime they have done so it has been the end of em as we saw with the German and Italian Groups.

You think being attacked on our own soil isn't something to worry about? 7000 Americans killed in their workplaces, our economy in freefall, our leaders in hiding. I do believe there's something extremely wrong in the US today. Feelings. Note that it is offensive, that's what bother them, not really the inacuracy. Terrorists do not like offensives against terrorists. If people tell me those moderate muslim advocacy groups are not supporting terror, I am going to puke.

They have killed over a million non-Muslims just in Sudan, they are killing Christians right and left in Indonesia, they've killed million of Hindus over several decades in India and Pakistan. I think they could decide mass slaughter is the way to go but maybe they'd try to convert us first. I think there is a pattern to their conquests. First they grow in numbers till they are fairly sizeable minority, then they impose Sharia law which justifies killing those who do not comply. We are just steps behind the Nigerians in what is being done to us.
