October 27, 2001 -- Afghanistan's Taliban fighters have a four-year history of civilian massacres, torture, rape and property destruction, a U.N. human rights investigator said yesterday.

Looking into incidents that occurred before the U.S. bombing raids began, investigator Kamal Hossain said he found a recurrent pattern of atrocities dating back to May 1997 and as recently as last June.

Torture! Rape! Mass murder! ..."one young boy was skinned, and another was burned alive"...!

Think it makes these people feel real spiritual?

And in their twisted, sick minds, they think God approves? They think they are doing God' work? They think they can buy themselves a ticket to paradise with suffering and blood? What kind of "god" would make such a bargain? What kind of "man" would? And what kind of pleasure would lurk in such a "paradise"--purchased at such a price? Is that real spiritual feeling worth this price? Is anything?

Some wretched people are so consumed with Hate that Hate is all that matters. Everything--God, people, their own immortal souls--if they can believe in anything--have become a twisted cartoon of Hate.

There are milder versions of this. Be wary of angry people--especially those who are outraged by injustice!--especially those who are comitted to public service! These are the people who are angry--first and for no particular reason--and hunger for an outlet for all that Anger. You will likely find Hate lurking beneath the Anger. Be particularly wary if such people are politicians. People who "want to serve the public" often really want to rule the public. Watch them. Often Anger and Hate are their driving forces.

If this was known, why did the UN Security Council fail to approve a resolution authorizing the use of force by the United States?

"And in their twisted, sick minds, they think God approves?"

And this is what they do to fellow Muslims, their wonderful religious brothers. I'm beginning to think they are subhuman.

I'm not surprised by the news - but other than the good guys, will anyone else take notice and change their view of the Taliban thugs and murderers?

The only thing shocking about it is the fact that it actually has a U.N. tag in the headline.

"

Because the UN supports terrorism and slavery.

Right, Kofe? Or have you told President Bush about who at the UN had these calendars?

I know just how you feel. Unfortunately, you and I both know that they are all too human.

It seems that Mother Theresa decided to become a nun or go to India or something like that when she realized that within herself there lurked a Hitler.

It is a wise person who knows what lurks within his own heart of darkness. Right?

If this was known?

Of course this was known. I've been reading about it in the papers, I've seen some of it on TV and right here on FR for the past several years. The UN has been documenting the atrocities in Afghanistan ever since the king was deposed in, what, 1983?

The thing is nobody thought they could do anything about it until the bad guys attacked us. The UN was to busy criticizing the Western democracies to pay any attention to what the staff was turning up. Unfortunately, this sort of thing is all too common in some Parts of Asia and Africa.

A couple of weeks ago, CNN ran an expose titled "Behind the Veil" which detailed many of these atrocities. I rarely watch CNN, but this was by far the best show about the Taliban I have seen. It made me want to go over there myself and take a few of them out. These people are the modern Nazis.

Satan is their "god."

Almost all the way down the line, when you read reports of Taleban operations, philsophy, method of justice, etc. they have a strikingly eery similarity to the Khmer Rouge of Pol Pot's infamy in Cambodia.

Striking similarities.

Yes. I wonder when they'll realize it.

Versions of this are ubiquitous--misguided souls committing evil acts, serving the gods of evil dispite what they profess.

Of course, we all know about that well-paved, well-traveled Road of Good Intentions and where it leads! Be skeptical of Do-gooders--especially the angry ones.

You go right ahead posting that picture (wtc) as many times as it takes. Every time I see it my blood boils to see these people...these AMERICANS who are caught in the dilemma of whether to burn to death or fall 100 stories.

These are men and women whose little children hoped against hope for days that their Mommy or Daddy would come home soon, and never did.

I want to present this picture to everyone who calls for "peace."

Himmler was a chicken farmer, Eichmann a vacuum cleaner salesman.

Yes, I too saw that documentary and it was very very enlightening. What stuck out in my mind was the scene of the 3 young Afghani sisters that were huddled together crying for days because of what the Taliban had done to them after they killed their Mother and Father.
