Thanx for the heads up and the link! This is a real wake up call for us to support our soldiers overseas AND here on the homefront - they needed us then, and those of us who weren't old enough to help our Vietnam vets surely can make up for some of the sins of our elders by helping out now.

Yes, there is a reason. It's called Islam. Search the net for Clash of Civilizations and read it. Read the Qu'uran. They hate the West and the US most of all. They want to destroy us. Nothing deeper than that. Just pure, unadulterated hate, spoonfed to them from the earliest ages.
There is no way to reason with this kind of enemy. The only thing that will prevent them from carrying out more terrorist missions, deadlier as time goes on, is to eradicate them. By "them", I mean those Muslims oriented toward terrorism and violence (and there are a lot of them all around the world). They must be taught that terrorism will not be tolerated and that they will pay a heavy price. Hopefully, there are more of those famous "peace-loving" Muslims than have made themselves apparent to date, and they will overpower the more violent among them in order to save Islam itself from complete annihilation. But if that's what it takes...

Will you be the judge of who is "eradicated" and who is not? Where will you draw the line between those who you believe deserve to die and those you will let live? You will never get them all, and the ones you miss will only hate you more. Then next time, 20,000 Americans will die, and again you will say, "Kill them all," and the next ones will hate you even more and so on and so on. But hey, as long as we make sure we kill more of theirs than they kill of ours, it will be alright, yeah?

I am not defending terrorists. I condemn the actions they took just strongly as you do. What I am saying is that we have to be careful that we don`t help to create a whole new generation that will be even more fanatical and kill even more Americans than this current crop already have. If we keep killing their people, you can guarantee they will keep killing ours. Sooner or later nobody will be left standing and that will be a very hollow victory indeed.

This is what they have been doing for generations and will do for generations to come.
It is their way of life. This is why you see pictures of children burning American flags and carrying weapons.

Hanoi Jane went halfway around the world to side with those poor people whose country was being attacked by outsiders. How noble of her. Somehow I think she owes something to her own country. The story of Jane and the POW's has been debunked as an urban legend, but I think she would have done it if she had the chance. Her trip did harm POW's because Hanoi felt free to abuse them after Jane convinced them that US did not support the war. We are at war again and it is important that we realize that there are a lot of janes out there today. Old Eagle believes in God and Country. Apple pie is OK too.
