"Every woman knows that if she were free, she would never think of murdering a child before its birth." -Victoria Woodhull

Well we all know that one isn't true. Women ARE free, and they still think nothing of murdering unborn children. I don't much care for the bit from Susan B blaming men more than women for abortion.. It's time many women started taking responsibility for their own sins.. I've listened to a lot of women in prison who blame their incarceration almost solely on the influence of some man.

anti-free choice people
Anti-free choice people? What a strange name. What exactly is an anti-free choice person? And could you introduce me to one? Heck, most pro-lifers don’t even qualify as anti-choice. We couldn’t give a rats *ss about choice. We care about life, and could properly be considered anti-abortion or anti-murder, but are more properly considered pro-life. Your phrase is just plain silly. You anti-God pro-sucking the blood from babies, small deer and cute bunny rabbits person you.

Now you are saying she must keep her child rather than dispose of it by adoption?

You do have a peculiar way of speaking.........we're not talking about a Bic lighter here.

Maybe you are.

"I think it rankles Planned Parenthood and the feminists that there is a group known as Feminists for Life. "

Believe me, it does! That's why I'm a member. We defuse those hard, cold, aborting fanatics with their own tired language.

By the way, FFL comprises very moderate, feminine "feminists", girly-girls. Patricia Heaton is a long-time member and honorary chair (whatever that means.)

Thanks for the ping, COB1, but I already am involved and have been involved for several years. My personal opinion is that we have to get the message out to YOUNG girls BEFORE they find themselves in compromising positions - pardon the pun.

(Glad to see you're back in business with your computer!)

What about all of those abused and helpless animals suffering every day, when did you last rescue a poor dog or cat or salamander from the pound?

As a matter of fact, you might call me a pro at picking up stray animals. As of today's count I have 5 cats and 2 dogs - ALL strays. I am totally pro-life.

BTW, most liberal women I know refuse to house "nasty dirty" animals. Messes up their rugs and stuff....

And your point is?? I'm waiting with baited breath.

What about the poor woman, whose baby has died in the womb, and that dead baby's, dead body decomposing abd killing the would be mother ? If that child is removed, do you consider it an abortion ? Just curious.

No I don't consider that an abortion. But miscarriages are not the issue of the article. I do believe the article mentioned abortions due to the choice of a mother for reasons of convenience or inconvenience.

Personally, since you asked, I believe a woman has several choices. 1) to abstain until a more favorable time 2)form of birth control, or 3) adoption. Once she has made her choice and untimely pregnancy happens-she should think very hard on ending the life of that child by her choice.

Thinking of the immediacy of "right now" causes many women to regret the choice they made in haste. I have counselled women who turn to alcohol or drugs to ease the pain of their conscious. Every year is a memory of how old that child would have been.

I wasn't arguing, I just wondered where you stood on that. I was NOT talking about a spontanious miscarriage. Some women have babies, that die in the womb and will NOT come out. If the dead baby is not removed surgically, they will often die. This is something other than a still birth.

I also know ( first hand, since it happened to a dear friend ) that tubal pregnancies are horrible things. The women, who are forced to have the baby removed because of this, are ones who have wanted to have that child, with ALL of their hearts. It is one of the saddest things.

I can not condem these poor women. If they didn't have the surgery, they would die. Just in case someone reading this doesn't know abou tubal pregnancies ( which are rare, bt NOT as rare as one might think ) the baby doesn't attach to the inside of the womb. Instead , it somehow gets out, attached to a Fallopian tube, and as the baby grow, it can explode the tube ... killing the woman and dying itself.

We agree on the issues that you mentioned. I would not want any woman's life to be sacrificed for the sake of the pregnancy for medical necessity. Abortions became big business, cash only facilities making a killing (pardon the pun) making deposits of blood money.

What once used to be an answer for women whose baby had died in the womb has now become a way of life for promiscuous girls/women looking for a quick way out of responsibility. But that's just MHO.

Good, we agree !

The pain , fright, and heartbreak, which my friend went through, when she had a tubal pregnancy, was horrid. I never would equate that with abortion. She and her husband wanted that baby SO much, but there was no way that that baby would EVER develope correctly, outside of the womb, and be born. All it would do is kill her.

I'm glad you two great ladies found your common ground.
I agree with both of you.
I knew a lady who had a tubal pregnancy, and she wanted that baby so bad it almost killed her.
She's never gotten over it, and that's been thirty years ago.
That incident was the beginning of my fight to protect the lives of the unborn.
We're all human beings with the consciousness instilled by God; I don't understand why some prospective mothers would give their lives for their unborn while some would throw them in the nearest dumpster.

I will have to go back and do some re-reading on what offends you. I look at a group like this as a collection of focus, where we may not agree with every single thought but we do agree with the overall focus.

I don't know the particular bit you are referring to, but I would be surprised if "blaming men" is a theme of Susan B.

I do easily accept, as history shows, that our society is male dominated, that men more than women look LASTLY to sex for its reproductive purpose, and to sex for all it's other purposes first. Put these two together, and perhaps that is what the reference you are referring to is about.

[On the other hand, if the tables turned and we lived in a female dominated society, we may have "less sex" and there would be more gay men because of it!! ;-)]

But I think you make an excellent point about "women in prison" using men as their scapegoats. As in all arguments, there are truths on both sides. It's the distortions that we need to be cautious of and I appreciate your read on this.

PERSONALLY, I think that a MAN should not screw any woman who he hasn't talked about keeping and raising babies together for the rest of their lives together. Maybe this is 'mens' fault. Yup...I do believe that is the case.
