5,000 Freepers who care are needed now!
Donate to Free Republic ^ | 30 November 2001 | Grampa Dave

Posted on 11/30/2001 7:48:58 AM PST by Grampa Dave

We need the stewardship of 5,000 Free Republic members to insure the continuation of the Free Republic Life Form!

Jim Robinson said in yesterday's post: "My projections are that our regular monthly expenses for next year will be running in the neighborhood of $22,000 per month, or approximately $264,000 total for the year. This means we will need to raise approximately $66,000 per quarter."

If 5,000 Free Republic members who believe in paying their own way and that no free lunch ever exists, pledge $5/month. Jim's goals and needs will be quickly surpassed!

5,000 good stewards of Free Republic pledging $5/month will total $75,000 per quarter. That would allow Jim/John a little breathing room!

Many of us donate more per month than that. So please don't reduce your donation. We just need 5,000 regular pledgers to make things easier for Jim.

Are there 5,000 good Stewards out there who can afford $5/month to keep alive the Free Republic Life Form?

One way to afford this is to cancel your subscription to your left wing fish wrap or bird cage liner. Donate half of that monthly cost to your favorite charity and the rest to Free Republic. If you do this, you remove your money from the enemies of America and invest it with the friends of America, Free Republic! That would be a double winner for America!

Become one of the 5,000 Freepers who believe that there is no Free Republic lunch and that only parasites want something for free! Sign up for $5/month on a monthly auto payment plan!

Happy to climb on board with $10 per month. I wish it could be more. It's actually easier than waiting for the fundraisers to roll around and giving more at those times. I hope Jim and John get enough pledges this way to set their minds at ease.

Hey, I always wanted to be one in a million... but one in 5000 will do.

I'm getting in for something more than $5 a month. Headed to the credit card link now...

Thanks for your generous donation and for joining the ranks of those who care!

It would be really nice if we got enough regular monthly donors to free Jim and John to do more creative things!

Ed thanks for joining us. It is a warmer and friendlier group of 5,000 versus a million!

Can you imagine what Jim/we could do with a million loyal and regular donors to Free Republic?!!?

Dane please freepmail BadJoe with your specific problem here. I use Check Free to pay my monthly payment. So I'm not really aware of what happens on this credit card site.

A $20 monthly pledge seems affordable for us. I'll talk to my wife as my job ended on 10/31/1 and we're adopting two boys, so finances couldn't be tighter. Still, $20 isn't much.

If 5000 Freepers gave a total of $1,320 over two or three years to a money market account, that would total 6.6 million and at 4%, pays $264,000 annually...

Grampa Dave this is great!

The fundraiser will probably be over much sooner this time because of the head start your thread has given it. BTTT!

Thanks! Those two adopted boys are very lucky to have you two as their parents! God Bless you! I hope you get a new job soon and all goes well with the adoption!

The wife (Debbie) and I agreed to $20 a month. Just finished the secure credit card form... Debbie said "FreeRepublic is where I get most of my news, so why not".

We thank you and Debbie. Her way of looking at just the news part is so realistic. If we did nothing but get the news off of Free Republic our monthly donation would be a good deal.

However, Free Republic can go way beyond just being a news source with the power of its members like you and Debbie!

Thanks for your generous donation and good luck in finding a new job and with your new sons!

I can set up a system that will allow Freepers to donate a portion of their Internet and Long Distance Bills to FR. I would be willing to do it for free if their is any interest. It would be a monthly check to FR. Depending on a few things it would be a several thousand dollar check every month.

*The reason why I selected a $5/month regular donation was based on Jim's cost data of your upcoming expenses! We don't have to know the amount per month, but it would be nice to know who is paying for their lunch and the lunch for the other 90%!

Bravo, Grampa Dave. This is the best fundraising thread ever. Your ideas and SamAdams76 posts #72 and #100 are brilliant!

Between the two of you, we might finally get this monthly show on the road and eliminate the financial stress on the Robinson family.

The FReepers are really "rolling" now!
