Amazing that the Palestinians don't realize that such terrorism is now, at the least, ill-timed. The U.S. is probably going to assert military power over more or less the whole Middle East over the next few months. The U.S. government has just expressed its determination to establish a Palestinian state. If these Palestinians would just sit tight, they would probably get their state in short order.

But, by mounting such attacks right now, they are calling all of that into question.

Okay, now, in all seriousness, I think you are right. Israel should take down a mosque for every bomb. If they want to be humane about it, they can warn the worshippers to evacuate first, then blow the mosques to smithereens. Start with smaller ones and work slowly toward the DOTR. It is absurd that the United States government, in particular Colin Powell, believe that killing Palestinian terrorists is an obstacle to peace. It would seem to me that killing the terrorists would ADVANCE the cause of peace. Afterall, what are we doing in Afghanistan. I hope our government takes the shackles off Israeli defense forces. I agree with Jack Kemp and Bill Bennett; we need to stand by Israel now more than ever.

Which I believe is one of the things that GW et al are trying to underscore. Even with a Palestinian homeland, there are many, perhaps most Palestinians who do not want Israel to exist in any form. Fatah is making that point quite well, which in turn usurps auhtority from Arafat and delegitimizes the Palestinian homeland cause.
