Federal and state wildlife biologists planted false evidence of a rare cat species in two national forests, officials told The Washington Times.

Had the deception not been discovered, the government likely would have banned many forms of recreation and use of natural resources in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Wenatchee National Forest in Washington state.

"I'm convinced that there is a lot of that going on for so-called higher purposes,"

Yep ... for the sort of "higher purposed" crowd who believes in population reduction, breeding for perfection, live and "terminal" experimentation for HUMANS only.

e-s posted, "Looks like background checks will be needed for forestry, and fish and wildlife positions, to keep out that special breed of liar known as an "Environmentalist."

Actually, we should prohibit phoney envirals who have or will use enviro terrorism to advance the agendas of the enviral nazis in America, from working in any governmental job!

Then, we should check every judge who might make a decision to back up the enviralist terrorists. If they are card carrying envirals, they are biased and should be recused from making any decision involving the agendas of envirals!

The employees have been counseled for their actions and banned from participating in the three-year survey of the lynx, listed as a threatened animal under the Endangered Species Act. Federal officials would not name the offending employees, citing privacy concerns.

Civil Service / AFSCMEs can't be fired for anything short of murder.

People have already said it but I'll chime in anyway. These grubby little liars should have been fired on the spot. Instead, they're still fattening themselves off our tax $$$s while they plot their next assault on the public. And we paid for their "counseling" too, as if that would have any effect on their fraudulent behavior. Pathetic!

"These are cases of rogue biologists trying to influence natural-resources policy," Mr. West said.

Upon further examination the hairs were found to be of a polyester, and faux fur composition! Federal officials are mystified why the Commie Pinko Enviro-Socialists would pull such a bit of flummery to try and get new lands set aside for "no usage". PETA spokesperson Ima Lyre stated emphatically ... "It wasn't me, man ... it wasn't me! But let us win your hearts and minds, or we'll burn your damned huts down!"

Notice this took place under Clinton watch. It's been hard enough to clean house at the top levels of gov't - imagine it's going to take some time to get to these lower levels. Eight years of infestation....

Thanks for the heads-up.

When the Vail Ski Resort announced an expansion of trails into possible lynx habitat, the radical animal-rights group Earth Liberation Front (ELF) torched five buildings and four ski lifts in protest. The Oct. 18, 1998, fire caused $12 million in damage and was the largest act of eco-terrorism in the United States. No arrests were made, and the statute of limitations expired in October.

In protest? Am I being petty, or is there something wrong with this choice of words?

This past summer, ELF planted spikes in hundreds of trees to sabotage a timber sale and protect the lynx and spotted owls in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest — one of the forests where the false samples were planted.

This isn't the first time forestry officials have encountered questionable studies to identify the presence of lynx in the Northwest.

Why have the feds not succeeded at arresting any of the ELF terrorists? Why have they not considered eliminating or revising the statute of limitations, so as to preclude the ability of criminals to get off scot-free, simply by evading capture for a certain amount of time?

And how can a government agency cite "privacy concerns" as an pretext for concealing (not to mention, failing to prosecute!) the identities of criminal employees?

The answer is, it can't!

the employees said they were not trying to manipulate or expand the lynx habitat, but instead were testing the lab's ability to identify the cat species through DNA analysis

Sheese. They should be fired just for trying to pass off the lamest excuse ever conceived.

Absolutely. I have posted when those who hate GW 24/7 and are not liberals to blame him for actions like these, YOU CAN'T FIRE OR SHOT FEDERAL EMPLOYEES!)

These federal employees commited several crimes and fraud, and they are still on the payroll getting our tax $'s !

We need enough repubie senators elected in 2002 to pass an auto retirement bill for all federal employees hired before 1 Feb 2001! It would cheaper and safer for this country to pay these life long demonicRat fed employees early retirement pay and get them out of the way. Then, each retired employee can be reviewed with a criminal background check if they want to come back. Then they have to take an oath to uphold this republic not urinate on it as many do now and have done their entire vile careers!

It is not just forestry and fish and game stacked with these criminal demonicrats. Every federal agency from EPA to Justice is harboring these life long demonicrats waiting to harm Americans and our Republic!
