Your Predictions Here, Please, On Timetable for Israeli Obliteration of Yasser Arafat....

My guess? Why, the IDF will drop a few on the Great Toweled-One by the end of the day January 30, 2002 after a few more bloody Hamas/Fatah attacks on soft targets push Tel Aviv over the edge.

Your 'wager'?? (no cash involved)

Okay, I'm in the pool. February 12, 2002.

It's a sucker bet.

You unwisely assume that a body will be found.

My prediction: Yasser becomes an unperson in early March.

I would have vaporized this guy decades ago. So much for my moderate tendancies.

Israel has new leaders voted in every few years. The Palestinians have been subjegated to Yasser's whims for decades.

In reaction the Europeans and middle-easterners and a few slugs in this nation lament Israel's government and laud the Palestinian's... Yasser.

If those who support Yasser really mean what they seem to be saying, they're living under the wrong systems of governance. They need to move to a place that has a dictator who perpetrates terrorism against his own people as well as his neighbors.

Come on folks, why not live under the policies and government of the man you support?

Arafat's demise will come after Saddam's. But it will most likely be political exile to Switzerland or the south of France, where Yasser can fondle his ill-got billions and slide into the nether reaches of Parkinson's Disease, without achieving the coveted martyr status he and the Israelis have been so careful to avoid giving him all these years.

I don't think they'll ever kill him. There isn't any upside to it. He's not carrying out the attacks, and he may not even know about them in advance.

He's discredited around much of the world, and he's ugly.

He's widely perceived as being the one who walked away from a peace deal that was too generous to him.

If there was any reason to think that he'd be replaced by somebody more moderate who could deliver on his promises, that would be one thing. But he wouldn't be, which is why they won't kill him.

1). The next attack that kills a member of government will bring an all out Israeli attack against all known terrorist camps and centers in Israel, Lebanon, and Syria.

2). This attack will cause an uproar in the Arab world. Iraq, Lebanon and Syria will mobilize.

3). Israel will mobilize in return and will launch pre-emptive attacks at Iraqi tanks that are in Syria and Lebanon and Iraqi scuds and decoys.

4). Iraq, and Syria invade the Golan heights and through Jordan in the West Bank area, arming the populace as they go, preceded by remaining scud attacks, including chemical weapons sent by rogue Iraqi commanders. Lebanon begins a southward push that is only designed to draw off forces. Terrorist attacks using chemical weapons used in market squares. Israel shows restraint concerning weapons of mass destruction, but deploys troops ruthlessly to defend Israel and kill all invaders. Due to Palistinian support of the invasion, many thousands of Palistinians are killed in the first week alongside their Iraqi and Syrian allies.

5). The world shows outrage at Iraq and Syria for the use of chemical weapons and the world opinion is in Israel's favor for the first time in an undeniable way.

6). Iraq uses radioactive waste in SCUD attacks and terror attacks in Jerusalem. Some form of chemical attack is used and kills hundreds in full view of television cameras.

7). Baghdad is nuked with a 5+ megaton device. Saddam probably killed. World freaks out, demands peace in the middle east, Israel points out, less people died in Baghdad than in the combined attacks of Iraq. Remaining Iraqi form coalition government allied to finish the invasion of Israel.

8). Joint American/European Force arrives 3 weeks after first attacks, lands at Haifa. Syrian troop from Golan Heights and LEbanese troops attacked by a two pronged attack by American/European forces. Israeli forces still respond to internal attacks, while additional American forces attack Iraq from the seas. Arabs living in America face severe persecution from citizens. All sleeper terror cells start causing havoc in the parks, shopping malls, and bus stations. Many Arabs choose to leave. Those remaining are considered criminals and face persecution and occaasional internment.

9). Lebanese forces crumble under intense American air power and resort to terorist type attacks, similar to Japanese last stand defenses in WWII Island campaigns. American/European forces cross the Golan Heights and enter Syria.

10). Nuclear device exploded in prominent European city and 2 American cities, one of which is Wshington D.C. President probably killed, American Government brought to it's knees logistically. All pity or remorse for Arabs is lost. All Arabs in US are attacked by vigilante groups, police do little to stop this. Remaining Americans take to arms, fill positions in newly called draft in 1 week.

11). War continues for 4 more months, with all major Syrian city infrastructure destroyed. Lebanon Cities invaded from Beirut by American/European/Turkish forces. Troops enter Baghdad ruins in symbolic act, invasion of Iraq from the Persian Gulf seizes major oil terminals in the east, while Turkish forces secure the north. Turkish forces cause much dissent with their additional attempts to eliminate Kurdish forces hostile to Turkey.

12). Since more than 75% of the Palistinians picked up arms and committed attacks from school yards and personal homes against Israeli forces, population of Palistinians is reduced by 60% or more. Syria cannot feed their people. Lebanon refugees flood Iraq and Turkey. Iraq is acountry without a leader, civil or otherwise. Millions dead. Arab nations threaten to cut west off from oil if attack momentum not stopped. West responds with threats against Saudi oil if promise kept. Saudis lighten up tone of threat, west responds with cessation of attack. World sees lack of advancing armies for the first time in 5 months since war started by Arab terrorists. Over 100,000,000 dead worldwide. World breathes sigh of relief.

13). Due to power vaccuum in US because of Nuclear attack, Europe must step forward to take world leader role. European leader starts re-building campaign putting survivors back to work. Small groups commit terror attacks in Israel and the world. European leader appears to have all best interests at heart, the world wants peace. Due to world pressure, Israel signs a peace treaty with the European lader to defend Israel against all foreign armies because Israel has almost no Army left and hawks demand protectionagainst all remaining Muslim countries like Egypt/Sudan/Libya and the southern republics of the former Soviet Union. Welcome to the Anti-Christ!

Arafart dead by early May after the an all out fight begins in mid April. Arafart will declare a Palestinina state and declare war on occupied lands as his last ditch effort before the PA collapse as an entity just before AraRat loses total control. This time there will be no PA or Arafart left to talk with and the West Bank and Gaza will be retaken by Israel and the local arabs will be given one last chance to make peace or be permanently removed from all Israel. Saddam Hussein will probably launch some scud somewhere in the process and the whole middle east will light up. Than the U.S. steps in to pay back Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, with GULF WAR II (terror erradication and Bin Laden hunt) ending with the Suadi Arabia now run by Chevron Oil Co.............

Yup. And that's his biggest problem right now.

That's a mark of the beast scenario. But a very possible one. My critique is that two nuclear strikes in the US would not paralyze us. Even if Wash DC gets one of them. And 100,000,000 would not die.

It would be great if Turkey ends up owning some Iraqi and/or Saudi oil fields

That was off the top of my head. I have been expecting a major Mid-East war since the breakup of the Soviet Union, but I was disappointed at the end of the Gulf War.

I believe Bible prophesy which says there will be world attention given to a city, Babylon, and that city is respected by the world, it is destroyed in an hour and the world mourns. Babylon is being rebuilt now by Saddam, but who cares about Babylon?

Some believe that this Babylon will become the center of the one world religion known as THE WHORE OF BABYLON, that all ecumenical worship will be headed there. I dunno.

In order for this BAbylon to have prominence, especially after an ecumenical religion, then Saddamhas to go, and all opposition to religious fighting has to end, also, and that means a major war, major death, and a world shift in thinking about religion and peace.

I am also a Former Marine and still think like one almost, and I follow politics like all the rest of you. I just have a scenario in my head. I left out many things like world terrorism in the Philippines, Malaysia, India to make up the 100,000,000 figure, but I believe the next major Mid-East war will be about Islam and Israel, and I have been saying it for 12 years among friends. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess that, though! :-)

Major problems with this scenario.

1) Israel could hold the Golan. I've been there. Between the mines, artilary, the Golani Brigade, and pissed of Druze, the Arab armies would be in real trouble. On the plus side, the land would be really fertile.

An invasion through Lebanon towards Haifa is more likely as this ground is flat. This is the traditional invasion route, which passes through Mt. Megiddo.

2) YOu are ignoring Iran, Egypt, and the Gulf States.
Iran could always join with weapons, but they don't get along with their Sunni arab neighbors.
Egypt poses a serious threat to Israel. With its limited population, Israel can only take the offensive on one front. The America armed Egyptian army would be a real problem.

Likewise the American and British armed gulf states could put troops in Jordan and head through the Judean hills.

The Air Forces of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain... could overwhelm Israel's

3.Israel has one more problem. It would need time to mobilize in any war. The 50,000 armed PA "police" as well as Hamas and Islamic Jihad could cause real difficulties by attacking Israli military bases and civilian transportation.

4. Israel has a loose nukes policy. It would not only use nukes if attacted with unConventional arms, but Israel also has the "Samson" option. In this scenario, if the IDF is overwhelmed, the opposing capitols would glow.

Ron

PS. A more likely precursor to war would be the PA trying to overun "settlements."

I believe the war against Israel will commence prior to the Trib, then Antichrist will step in a make peace after Israel's enemies are given a serious whipping by God on the mountains surrounding Israel. This is in Ezekiel 28-29.

No scenario is perfect. Artillery can take out mines in the Golan, too, so can a feint, allowing Israel to come forward a day, they counter them quickley, and just follow the tracks to have a cleared path so to speak.

i dont doubt the Golan is formidable, it is also historically Syrian, they want it, and it is the high ground, and might be the first chemical attack. With Lebanon coming down from the north, Israel would be stretched to defend the north and east in combat, the south from Egypt who only has to rattle sabers.

I do admit I left out Jordan, but then again, when did they ever show any courage? They MIGHT come in through the west bank, but not with armour. Too slow, too noticable on buildup. Armour could follow if desired.

Either way, I think Israel will be victorious, but the losses will be phenominal on the Arab sides, seeing they could play the human wave theory here.

But if the Arab armies are destroyed before getting to Israel, the scenario still stands. Iran is one of the nations named that will be in the army that only 1/6 is left after God gets done with them. So many will die that the Israelis will bury the dead for 7 months and burn weapons for 7 years.

I don't think Israel will kill him. They have had the opportunity for how many years to do so now? The problem is, who replaces him. Arafat wants to straddle the fence, supporting thugs on the one hand, but being a world leader on the other. He is somewhat containable by Israel therefore.

Arafat's heir will be nastier. I have no doubts that Israel will defend itself well, but the day after Israel were to kill Arafat, they would basically be on a war footing permanently, even more so than they are now.

My prediction is that Israel is getting close though. One more major terrorist attack against the west, (US or Europe, not Israel) will be Arafat's doom. Israel will retaliate with lethal force against Arafat within a week after the first even minor terrorist event in Israel.

I don't think they will do the deed until then however.

Do you really think the Europeans would team up with us to defend Israel? I think there is a growing dislike for Israel among some in the west. Even England (who ever the leader may be at that time), may not for political expediency. I think the US may end up going it alone on their behalf (or at least I hope we ALWAYS defend Israel). What is your timetable for these predictions (starting in 2002, or in 5 - 10 years this begins?)?

Good night! It's Nostradamus Jr. with very bad news! So who's the anti-Christ, after all? You should have the name after all this specificity. It was an interesting read of imaginative fiction, however.

Your version of the future is as good as anyone else's. Mine is different: I have Israel finally getting terminally irritated and wiping out Baghdad, Damascus and Ryadh with a surprise series of atomic attacks. They'll also make dust of the PA w/o atomics. Cairo might be irradiated also. It's a guess.

GOTCHA! The Big One That Didn't Get Away Robotic telescope captures visible light from a powerful gamma-ray burst
Jan 27, 1999: For the first time, scientists have witnessed the visible light emitted at the same time as a gamma-ray burst, a mysterious explosion in the far reaches of the universe…

…This particular burst had the power of nearly ten million billion suns, and the light grew so bright that anyone gazing at the night sky could have seen it using only a pair of binoculars. The chances were slim, however, that someone would be looking at that exact point in the sky at 4:47 a.m. EST, on Jan. 23. But thanks to the use of two satellites, a unique ground-based telescope, and the Internet, scientists around the world were able to pinpoint the location of the burst, and to monitor it from start to finish…

… Feb 10, 1999: Two weeks ago one of the most powerful cosmic explosions ever recorded bathed the earth in gamma rays. The gamma-ray burst -- called GRB990123 -- was so intense that its visible light could have been seen through common binoculars. Since then the optical counterpart to GRB990123 has faded until it is 4 million times dimmer that it was during its peak…

…Never before have scientists been able to watch the visible light during a gamma-ray burst. Ever since the bursts were first discovered in 1967, scientists have been eager to gather more data about these elusive, cataclysmic explosions.

I don`t understand what makes you so sure about that. Israel has a proven track record of timidness. They will have no better reason to assasinate chief pallie after another attack. What is the difference between 285 dead & 291. Israel should stop worrying about public opinion & start protecting it`s citizens.

BTW, my guess on Arafat, he goes down in a Royal Jordanian helicopter leaving Israel.

Daniel 11:22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.

Hmmm?

Jordan's King Abdullah II Says Global Summit Challenges Current Middle East Turbulence By 'Building Bridges, Healing Wounds'

AMMAN, Jordan (Nov. 9, 2000) -- Jordan's King Abdullah ll, in a message to 450 delegates attending today's opening session of the first Global Summit on Peace through Tourism, said "the time is now for the entire world to hear your message of peace and reconciliation echo loud" at a time "when we are being reminded by persistent images of painful suffering that justice delayed is tantamount to its denial."

The king said in a written statement delivered by Prime Minister Ali Abu Ragheb that "the dove of peace" is looking for refuge from the "unfulfilled promises of peace," adding that the current turbulence in the region threatens to throw the Middle East "back into the abyss."

He said the summit message "challenges the bitter reality of hatred and builds bridges, heals wounds, and advocates a better and safer future." The king said he was confident the Amman Declaration on Peace through Tourism, to be issued at the conclusion of the Global Summit tomorrow, will reflect positive expectations for peace and "live up to the vision of the future that we all aspire to realize."

The king, Royal Patron of the Global Summit, told the travel and tourism leaders and tourism ministers from 60 countries that "an appropriate political and economic framework" with agreement by countries to co-exist peacefully is a pre-requisite for promoting understanding, trust and goodwill around the world. He called for a "singular code of conduct" based on "effective governance, democratic accountability, and private enterprise."

He said that countries viewing tourism as a means of international cooperation in addition to an economic growth vehicle would reach tourism's full potential. Private sector investment, management and operations are essential for economic development, the king said.

Jordan has based its tourism strategy on cooperation regionally and beyond. "Tourism and travel are global by definition and by nature," the king said, "and cannot thrive in any other alternative environment." He said that the Jordan model can become "a pillar in the peace building structure of the Middle East."

Prime Minister Abu Ragheb was introduced by Jordan's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Akel Biltaji who said summit delegates committed to the "safety, comfort, and movement of people" through tourism were well positioned to fulfill the late King Hussein's commitment to peace for the current and future generations.

Harvey Golub, chairman and CEO of summit title sponsor American Express, said, "We know the benefits our industry brings to a country. We know that travel and tourism does contribute to both economic development and personal understanding, two conditions that are prerequisites to maintaining peace. Once a cycle of conflict is ended, stability is needed -- the stability of governments, economies and personal intentions that will hopefully make the recurrence of war less likely. And those are conditions travel and tourism can impact."

He went on to explain his strong feelings about what travel can do to help sustain a state of peace. "The most important lesson travel can teach us is not about our differences, but about our similarities...whenever and wherever I go, I find this belief gets reinforced time and time again. Helping people come to this realization on their own is the first step toward tolerance."...
