Raleigh area Freepers, heres your chance to do something for your country. Dont be a FINO (Freeper In Name Only) come out to the rally and show our President and Military that you stand behind them.
These pacifists would like the world to think THEY are the majority. Lets out number them and show them WERE MAD AS HE!! And Were Not Gonna Take It Anymore!
WHERE:
Capital Bldg. Grounds Downtown Raleigh
WHEN:
February 15, Saturday from 12-2
We will begin assembling at 11:30 and stay till it's over.
I have applied for a permit to hold a Patriotic/Support Our Troops rally on the capital grounds in downtown Raleigh. The address is: 1 E. Edenton Street, Raleigh, NC 27699.
Map can be found at: here.
A map of areas to park is available here. If I remember right the parking lots are usually free on the weekends. There is also on street parking available, bring quarters to feed the meters for these.
If you dont live in or near Raleigh there are other organized events for this day in our state. You can find more information about the other NC war protests here.
The peaceniks are saying they will have 10,000 protesters, not likely. Let's show them by having MORE than them.
I will be posting some possible sign ideas within the thread so keep checking back for updated info throughout next week. If anyone has a bullhorn, bring it please.
If you are involved in any local conservative groups or military organizations that would like to come and help us out, spread the word. You don't have to be a FReeper to join in, just a Patriot that loves the USA and wants to see our freedom protected from tyrannical terrorists. E-mail your family and friends and get them to come with you. Call and/or e-mail Jerry Agar so we can get some publicity for this event. Constitution Day and I can't do this alone WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Since our wonderful state employees at the Raleigh PD always seem to be out on a smoking break or just plain don't want to answer their phone I will probably just show up in person.
At any rate I will let you know.

There are many benefits to not sharing the same piece of real estate with them. One will be that we will hopefully be up-wind of them, another is that from the other so-called peace rally threads I've been reading is that they do tend to get a little violent at times so we'll probably be safer this way.
I'd love you to come up and support our military with us. I'll keep you updated.

According to the local (WRAL - Raleigh) weather forecast, next weekend may be a "washout".
Now I REALLY hope we are upwind from them!
I'm betting that wet hippie is MUCH more stinky than, say, wet dog. :)

I FINALLY got a human on the phone at the Raleigh PD this am. He told me I had to come downtown and apply in person. So I packed up my feverish 5 year old and went down there to fill out the necessary form.
The Sgt. assured me that I would have my answer by the time he left today at 2:30 pm. Guess what? Never heard back from him. I can't begin to tell you how frustrated I still am over this whole mess.
He did assure me that he didn't see a problem with the permit being approved but that some other people had to look it over also. Apparently we also have to have permission from the Convention Center since they are responsible for the property. He was going to place that call for me today and have the woman call me.
When I didn't hear from either one this afternoon, I called her and left a voice mail. You guessed it, I never heard back from her.
As Constitution Day told me today when the government is involved the wheels turn VERY slowly.
If everything goes through as planned our new location will be across the street from the capital at the north end of the Fayetteville St. Mall. Our signs are to be no larger than 2' x 2'. If we march we are to be no closer than 15' apart, don't know why they have this rule.
That's about it, I will try calling him in the am and get the status of our request and I'll update ya'll as soon as I know anything new.
