“They needed that clause not because they were dual citizens at birth, but because they were only British citizens at birth— the U.S. didn’t exist as a legal entity until 1776. “

The Constitution wasn’t adopted until 1787, and it says “Citizen of the United States” in the Constitution, not British citizens.

Furthermore...

The Immigration Act of 1790 states (in part): "…And the children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond sea, or out of the limits of the United States"

Pay close look at the 5th word 'citizens' Notice that it is plural? As in, more than one? Barry's father was NEVER a U.S. citizen of any kind. This act of 1790, about 3 years after the Constitution was 'framed' further proves that Barry can NOT be a NBC. The reiterated that to be a NBC...one had to have TWO citizen parents. Not one.

Yes, if they were born overseas. If they were born in the U.S., they were citizens from birth even if neither parent was a citizen.

I have yet to hear of a Supreme Court case that recognizes any type of citizenship for so-called ‘anchor babies,” let alone the natural born variety. It is a commonly held belief that they are citizens but when has SCOTUS ruled that they are such? Never, apparently.

I checked out your profile. It’s my assessment that you would want Obama also removed due to the fact he’s Socialist, for big government and high taxes. When I was younger, I worked one summer at an Irvine, CA. corporate law firm.

So you believe the framers thought it would be alright to have a Commander In Chief who, for example had a father who was Russian and never a U.S. citizen (of any kind) and a mother who was Natural born?

Hey, I’m supporting Orly Taitz and her persistence all the way. I believe that she will be heard.

Except they did not rule Wong Kim Ark as a natural born citizen, so that doesn’t work. Anything else?

They ruled Ark was a citizen by birth. They also said that there were two kinds of citizens - citizen by birth and naturalized. There are not three categories of citizenship, no matter what you would like to believe. Citizen by birth and natural born citizen are one and the same.

"They needed that clause not because they were dual citizens at birth, but because they were only British citizens at birth-- the U.S. didn't exist as a legal entity until 1776."

At the time of becoming POTUS however....they knew that all of them were:

Both U.S. Citizens AND British at birth.

Today, Barry is Both a U.S. Citizen (alleged, not proven) and British at brith.

Therein of course lies another problem, he...Barry the politician alleges that he was born in Hawaii. However, as we all know there is no proof of that as of yet.

Exactly. We should be opposing Obama on the merits of his policies and stop chasing lawsuits that will never accomplish anything.

Well, when are you going to start doing that and stop wasting your time on these threads?

“but no one...has questioned his status as a NBC”

That alone makes me think the fix is is. Where is the patriotic opposition?

Yes, the merits of his policies are radically liberal.

Obama is not eligible to be President due to lack of citizenship in several ways.

It makes sense that the Judicial Department will investigate and I don’t see Obama getting past them.

Agreed. It’s obviously un-Constitutional and unreasonable to grant citizenship by virtue of simply crossing the borders.

“Citizen by birth and natural born citizen are one and the same. “

You can’t reasonably infer that from Wong Kim Ark, not least of which is because they discussed natural born citizen at length, and deliberately decided not to rule on the presidential qualifications. Wong Kim Ark cannot erase the words “natural born citizen” from the Constitution.

I questioned Obama’s lack of natural born status from before the General Election. I wrote Senators, Secretary of States and Judges. It’s time for the courts to subpoena Obama’s original birth certificate (and I believe that this will prove him ineligible).

>>>She admitted on her blog that she called after business hours, and that, when she called back this morning, they told her it was just a computer glitch and the case was still on the docket. In the meantime, she posted a hysterical screed on the internet claiming that Obama had ordered her case off the Supreme Court docket—a legal impossibility. If she was looking for a way to hurt her credibility with the Court, she found a good one.<<<

Uhmmm, cite please? Where on her blog did she admit she called at all? She was enroute to Texas during this time.
