Krauthammer calls Palin tour 'eccentric,' doubts she'll run in 2012

With a lot of media attention, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin visited the nation’s capital over the weekend to kick off a bus tour, in which she will visit various national landmarks. But some see the trip as a campaign stunt for a possible 2012 presidential campaign.

On Monday’s “Special Report,” syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer offered his thoughts on the bus tour, but admitted he wasn’t clear on what was motivating it.

“I don’t know – it’s more eccentric than usual, this event,” Krauthammer said. “She says she is going around to highlight ‘the foundation of the country.’ I don’t want to be picky but generally we say the founding of the country. I know I’ll get e-mail on that.”

Regardless of the motivation for the tour, Krauthammer suggested it would keep Palin’s brand fresh. He also noted that it would be problematic if both Minnesota Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann and Palin ran for president, citing an unscientific Fox News poll.

“But does the country need reminding about the Constitution and the Gettysburg — Concord, which is not in New Hampshire, it’s in Massachusetts? I’m not sure what she is doing except to say – I’m with Juan [Williams]. I think if she is still here with Fox, she is not running. She is not running. What I think she is doing to trying to keep the brand vibrant. During the next 18 months when all the attention will be to other candidates, and she showed what she can do. At Rolling Thunder she came, she saw, she sucked all the oxygen out of the room. There is nobody who can do that as she can. But as we saw in the poll, it looks as if she and Bachmann would be splitting this constituency that they have. And Bachmann, you know, this is unscientific poll but she clearly can represent that position and draw as Palin does, equally well.”

Later during segment, Krauthammer clarified his remarks, saying he confused a Palin gaffe with a Bachmann gaffe.

“Let me just say, it was Bachmann who slipped up on Concord, not Palin,” Krauthammer said. “I didn’t mean to imply otherwise. But Bachmann is a stronger and more organized candidate for that constituency.”

If guys like Krauthammer said anything good about Palin their career as a pundit would come to a screeching halt. He’s one of the “safe” commentators who can be counted on to say witty conservative-sounding things while steadfastly upholding the Ruling Class inside-the-beltway elites.

Bingo!

Liberal Jews always make the same mistakes. I guess that is why they were thrown from the promise land so many times.

Tokyo Rove and Harvard/Romney's "Doctor of Misogyny":

"Go Mitt. Go Mitt. Go Mitt"

"Rove is pushing Romney so aggressively
some folks are beginning to wonder what's going on,"
grumbled one veteran Republican strategist."

"Rove has made no secret
of his support for Romney as McCain's VP. "

What actions has she committed to your accepting her MSM rating? It seems they did the same thing in giving us Mc Lame as our standard bearer, or how about Bob Dole before Mc Lame?

I think her contract reads ... “we pay you a lot of money to be a Fox News contributor, and you don't have to do very much”

But if you have a non-campaign tour called the Foundation, we need to exclusively know where you will be going.

She's worth every dime that FOX pays her and they will let her make a formal announcement before they cut the payment stream.

huckleberry, newt and santorum couldn't draw flies and are just fill in talking heads that are a dime a dozen.

Sigh... You’re a concern troll, aren’t you?
One wonders if the (u) next to his name is missing the letters "tah".

Such fine concern, though.

Friggin’ krauthammer... he is a damnable fakir... he is a liberal dim... from labor union marxist parents... he hates Conservatives but he makes good money disguising himself as one while he issues leftist propaganda and sells it as Conservative ideas.

Maybe people will finally wake up and see that FOX is not your friend. FOX is not conservative. They dislike conservatives just as much as every other media outlet.
CORRECT!!! Fox is false freedom. It came on to be the "voice of opposition" after people woke up to the fact that ALL TV was slanted left. Can't have upset sheep. Need docile sheep.

Over time (and being bought out in part by Muslims) Fox moved back left. It employs people like ShepSmith, Loofa boy, etc. It makes a pretense of being "Fair and balanced" by having on EQUAL numbers of left and right, instead of the ganging up that goes on on the other networks. Where it is 2:1 or 3:1. Used to be CNN's Crossfire was the only show on TV with a 1:1 balance.

But now when your "right" voice is George Will, who cares?

It is all about control, people. You must be controlled.

TRUE Balance would be Sarah, Bachmann and Malkin against Alan Colmes every hour. And stories and topics picked that educated people about the true nature of freedom and capitalism.

Not in your lifetime.

“Get rid of him (Kraut), Rove, Kristol, Parino.....

The four of them are absolutely worthless as a panel guest....All RINO elitists that have us screaming at the tube.....Like someone earlier stated, I tune in lately for Palin news.....Van Susteran and Hannity give the Governor a fair and balanced look though.....

“I think Charles has gone quite mad.”

He has an afflicition suffered by many, i.e., PDS. The elitist prick just can’t help himself. His arrogant demeanor, nose high in the air, makes him unwatchable on TV; we have to change channels when His Snootiness is on.

The fact of the matter is if it were any other politician would they be saying the same or even remotely similar to how they criticize Palin for riding with Rolling Thunder? Nope, they wouldn't. It would be a ‘fluff’ piece written if anything at all.

“I think her quitting as governor would be used against her...”

I can see how you’d think that, considering how Obama was attacked so viciously for quitting after working only 144 days as senator. /s/

Are you from the UK?

Idiotic comparison....I like Bachman, but he (Kraut) doesn’t believe that nonsense anymore than we do....What a sad man....Really.....

“What I think she is doing to trying to keep the brand vibrant.” (Krauthammer).....

“Who the heck talks like that?.... Other than elitist snobs?... They just don’t understand the thinking of the common man.... When Palin says she is concerned about the direction her country is taking, she isn’t talking about her own fortunes....”

They will never get it....I want to barf every time I have to deal with people like that.....I think to myself, do you really think and live that way?...I cannot, nor do I want to relate, but it has cost me professionally....
