Could a Palin presidential bid rewrite the campaign rulebook?
CBS News' Political Hotsheet ^ | August 23, 2011 | Lucy Madison

Posted on 08/23/2011 8:29:29 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Conventional wisdom dictates that Sarah Palin is not running for president: it's too late; the field is too crowded, and many think she is more interested in making money than running for office.

On top of that, the onetime vice presidential candidate has failed to build substantial campaign apparatus in crucial early primary states. She has seemingly declined to aggressively court big-name, big-dollar Republican donors, and she has watched as countless top GOP operatives join her possible competitors' campaigns.

Palin, many believe, has handicapped her own prospects for 2012 and decided to sit it out.

--snip--

"Her campaign, if it is a campaign, just truly baffles me," says Republican strategist Eric Woolson, who managed former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee's Iowa campaign in 2008 and worked on former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty's 2012 bid until his recent withdrawal from the race. "She's not doing interviews; she really doesn't have the infrastructure around her that she would have typically set up by this point of the game... All of us would say, gosh, she should have had that infrastructure in place two years ago."(continued)

“They are terrified of the thought ‘We The People’ being empowered instead of them, the elitist.”

I do believe you’re right. “We the people” need to initiate lots and lots of investigations, and throw lots and lots of elites in prison, not to mention seizing their asets. So, yeh, “terrified” is the right word.

So you’re calling me a liar? Or her? Which is it?

It is the “consultants” like Eric who don’t care who they work for which are confused. Once she announces there are principled folks who have all the skills these hacks claim to have who will be at her call, and the grassroots “money bomb” she does will make Ron Paul’s look like a fire cracker.

“...She has seemingly declined to aggressively court big-name, big-dollar Republican donors,..”

This is good. Perry will get that kind of money, as he is the guy who plays politics to Power. He promised Palin that he wasn’t going to run in 2012. Uh-huh. Well, maybe he can be her running mate but frankly, I wouldn’t trust a man who lies.

There are millions of people just waiting for her to announce.

"In case you missed the story yesterday, she already has the organization sewed up in Iowa according to campaign staffers from other campaigns, in fact, they stated they had never seen anything like it before, a completely volunteer organization in place even before the candidate announces."

At this point the press has to know this. These people are not hiding. They are at events, signing up mailing lists, recruiting volunteers and passing out Palin palm cards. I conclude that the press is pretending they are not there to make the public think Palin has no support.

Their hatred and bias blinds them. Remember it was Gore I believe that said the tea party's opinions were not legitimate and should not be heard. It is the same here. They are trying to freeze out Sarah by pretending that she doesn't have support i.e. us. If they hate her they will hate us.

I think too that their own bigotry blinds them and they do not want to look at what is happening. The elite's preconception of what a politician is does not include average, middle class Americans. They cannot see us or won't see us or both.

Definitelynotaliberal, this may not be the specific link you are looking for but here is a link to an interview with Peter Singleton, the O4P organizer in Iowa. Tammy Bruce interviewed him on Saturday and they both have important information. Peter says he has organization in all 99 Iowa counties. He says the press walks right by him and have no clue what is going on.

Go Here for Peter Singleton Interview

[ You mean other than substantial accomplishments and extensive executive experience? ]

They both are business people.. (own businesses)..
Both have experience balancing books.. and making hard decisions..

Literally NO ONE is prepared to be POTUS..
Even if they have vast governmental experience..
American politics is meant to be run by citizens not professionals..

The most prepared to be POTUS is Juan McLaim.. or Myth Romney..
And who in their right mnd would want that?..

Bachmann is fully prepared to disassemble the federal government.. NOT BUILD IT UP..
So is Sarah Palin.. but we do not need BOTH jockeying for the same position..
Let Sarah Palin become "Disassembly Czar" with G. Gordon Liddy as enforcer..

How is John McCain, a senator, the “most” prepared? The only executive position he has ever held was squadron commander after his POW experience shortly before retirement. Sarah Palin was a city councilwoman, mayor, chairwoman of an energy department and governor. Michele Bachmann has absolutely no government executive experience that I'm aware of. As for Mitt Romney, his disastrous governorship speaks for itself.

[ How is John McCain, a senator, the “most” prepared? ]

He is a Senator.. the wisdom is nobody from the House can be elected.. but it must be a Senator or Governor..

The Senate for the most part is an Asylum.. and States (all of them) are quite confused..

It will take somebody with brass balls to take a meat axe to the federal government..
Sarah could do it.. but so could Michele..

I like Ron Paul, he surely could, but he tends to go off his meds..
As he says, He just wants to re-direct the conversation, well so be it..

Michele would do a bang up job of Disassembly.. anything LESS than disassembly would a Cloward-Piven Coup..

All these *smart* people running off at the mouth about Sarah not having an organization

Not to mention O4P. There's already an O4P chapter in most states, and even here in deep blue Illinois we are a thriving entity, racking up volunteer body count, making converts, and otherwise getting ready for the big push when General Palin gives the word. In Obama's home state, mind you. Yes, we are being series misunderestimated, and that is hugh. :)

IMO she is campaigning for vice president.

Ha! It is clear you know little about the Wasilla Warrior. Her dad used that expression about "not retreating but reloading" out of a deep knowledge of her character. She is a fighter, and a winner. It's like someone once said, you never can lose if you never give up. That's her. I really wish I was a betting man. I could really clean up with how badly people here are underestimating and misunderstanding her. Too much fun. :)

Thank you, Solar Wind. It’s actually not the link I was looking for, but I enjoyed the conversation with Singleton. The link I’m looking for, specifically, is the one where campaign staffers from other campaigns marvel at Palin’s support. The poster to whom I’d responded (SoCon Pubbie, I think) had said this:

In case you missed the story yesterday, she already has the organization sewed up in Iowa according to campaign staffers from other campaigns, in fact, they stated they had never seen anything like it before, a completely volunteer organization in place even before the candidate announces.

“a completely volunteer organization in place even before the candidate announces.”

With thousands more within a 5-10 hour radius willing to drive in and help.

If Sarah runs, this will be the first campaign I have committed myself personally to since 1980.

Likewise. Yesterday, I told 6 people (quite smoothly, I might add) what the distance is between Alaska and Russia and made them aware of how we had all been conned by the media.

“If you recall as well, Her very first speech (during acceptance), HER teleprompter had problems and she winged it for a couple minutes until it was straightened out, nary a soul realized. She’s very fast on her feet and prepared for those situations.”

It was during the teleprompter blackout that she saw the hockey mom’s for Palin sign and got off the line, “I love those hockey moms. Ya know, the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick!”

Totally in control while raising the roof. One of the great ad libs in convention history.

Rasmussen has a poll showing a Palin/Obama matchup at:

Obama 50
Palin 33

If you think nominating someone who can’t even break 35% against a President with approval ratings in the 30s is a good idea, go right ahead.

“I believe she will take on and defeat the other GOP candidates, and then believe that she will mop the floor with Obama.”

Keep telling yourself that, and maybe it’ll come true:

So you believe whatever pollsters and pundits feed you? How come McCain’s numbers went up so much when she joined the ticket? Why did a man from Hollywood make a movie (with his own money!) about her? Why does the media, White House, DNC, entertainment community, nutroots and cable TV attack her day-and-night if they don’t fear her?
