Texas Gov. Rick Perry is pretty much done for if he finishes too poorly in Iowa, where he has spent far and away the most of any candidate. Politicos Mike Allen reports that Rick Perry is the king of the airwaves, having spent about $2.9 million on ads in December alone. His super PAC has spent an additional $1.3 million.
Yet in the CNN-Opinion Research poll released Wednesday, Perry is in fifth place in Iowa at 11 percent. In RealClearPolitics average of Iowa polls, Perry is in fourth, with 12 percent.
Perrys days are numbered if he spends more than $4 million in ads alone in a rural state where Christian conservatives play a strong role, only to come in fourth or fifth. Unlike Rep. Ron Paul, who has a rabid fan base to keep him going, or Rick Santorum, who is on the upswing, its hard to see the rationale or the means by which Perry could keep going after such a disappointing result.
After his big entry into the race, Perry made a series of errors from which hes never recovered...

It’s never wise to under- estimate Perry’s ability as a great retail
campaigner. Reports from his bus tour in Iowa indicate that he is drawing overflow crowds who are responding enthusiastically to his message.
The Des Moines Register Poll will be out on Saturday night, and will be published in the Sunday edition.
There are 3 reasons Sarah won’t endorse Perry:
1) he’s a crony capitalist
2) he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer
3) I can remember the third

And her endorsement in 2010 of Perry was insincere? Palin sure is a hard one to figure out, to say the least. But most politicians are.
Santorum and Bachmann will be gone soon even if Santorum finishes well he has no money and never organized.
Perry has money and time. Things no one but Romney has. The worst thing conservatives who want an alternative to Romney could do is have Perry drop out.
Right now in Iowa it almost looks like a 6 way tie when you take into account the MOE. I also thing Ron Paul will do worse than everyone predicts.
Perry isn't traveling with Medal of Honor winners just for Iowa. It's for SC.
On intrade he’s third in Florida.
Looking forward to that. Time for some positive mo.
You haven’t seen hate until you see what’s in store for the eventual nominee, whoever it might be.
Maybe they don't like her.
Pssst! Sarah isn’t runing!
Palin and Perry have more in common than you think. As for your #2, I recall the media questioning Palin’s intelligence as well. Neither of them went to ivy league schools. Both are from large energy states and believe in tapping our resources. Both are big 2nd Amendment advocates and both are pro life. I wish she would endorse him.
I was for Fred too.
Turns out he wasn't what America needed.
I suspect the rabid Palin supporters would rather have Mitt or RuPaul than Perry. They bear an irrational hate for him and I'm starting to see why.
I saw some idiot post yesterday that they thought Perry entered the race as part of the "Stop Sarah" campaign, for crying out loud.
You could almost say the same for Rick, huh?
As for as narow-minded people are concerned.
